Post your general cosplay update. What have you been up to in the cosplay/otaku world?

Doing planning for my Meta Knight cosplay. I really should be close to done and jus thave alterations left, but here I am. My goal is to have the build basically done in two weeks so I can spend the following two weeks fine tuning it. I know that's a mad dash, but that's the only way I get things done.

Currently con crunching Collei from the genshin manga, for a convention that I have in less than a week. I had hoped to have her done earlier, but she proved to be more annoying than I had anticipated. After that though, I am getting back to Vi from arcane, for a competition in November, and, if I have the time to pull it off, Il Dottores harbinger coat from the new trailer!

Was gonna attend SacAnime this weekend, but skipped due to the massive heat. Next con is likely SacAnime Winter and my lineup for it isn't finalized but the cosplays I'm bringing for sure are Mabel from Gravity Falls, Huaisang Nie from Mo Dao Zu Shi, and hopefully Genesis from FFVII Crisis Core!

My most recent costume was finishing my BLU Soldier (Team Fortress 2) after thirteen years. I have worn it to a couple of photoshoots. Lately I have been working on upgrades to my Willy Wonka (Tim Burton version) costume and cane. I have all the supplies to expand my stormtrooper armor so I can wear it again, I just need to get off my butt and do it. I also want to start work on my Pink Ninjetti Ranger (Mighty Morphin' Power Rangers: The Movie) now that I figured out an easy way to sew the bottom layer.

I finished sewing a version of card captor sakura for a friend a few months ago. I plan to fix my old cosplays, perhaps starting from Allen walker by D. Gray-man and devote myself to new Kingdom Hearts projects!

Well now I *might* be adding Anakin Skywalker to my SacWinter lineup since I have pretty much all the materials I need to make him, but we shall see!

Fiddling with these articulated wings. Just cannot get a good connection yet also allow the cord and a smooth and easy motion. Probably going to go back to the original method. But tomorrow's plan is to cut out all my fabric patterns and potentially the fabric itself, and if I'm feeling REALLY motivated, do some more trim work on the armor. Also need to print my chestplate pattern out.

I successfully finished my Collei cosplay in time for the convention (with some terrible con crunch, but nevermind that), and I am so proud of it! I will probably post pictures of her soon, but I am having some technical difficulties with the photos. Really excited to start working on Vi and Dottore, I've just ordered wigs for both of them, and just started the patterning for Vi which is going surprisingly well! Super excited for my con in November and getting to go back on stage again!

Made a spur of the moment Joann's trip a couple days ago and found brown pleather in the remnants section that's perfect for Anakin's belt so I started that, also started working on him beforehand. xD

A bit frustrated that I can only have the motivation for maybe an hour of cosplay progress per day. Really don't want to get to the real con crunch this time around. I ended up buying the wing base and I'll alter from there, though I honestly wanted to make them myself. I gotta return these pulleys I was going to use for it, since that's $14 just for the pair. The cape is absolutely beautiful and I still need to do the trim and applique. After than the tunic and basically all of the armor...in two weeks.

I recently finished my Tiger from Yugioh Sevens cosplay for Halloween and I absolutely love it! I also did some test shots to play around with my costume before Halloween so I can spend that day enjoying Halloween and not have to worry about having bad photos. I'm doing this this year since after I cosplayed D.Va for Halloween back in 2019 I spent pretty much the whole day trying get good pics but that could be due to me being a newbie at posing and cosplay in general, but doing a 'preshoot' will hopefully take the edge off (that and my Widowmaker cosplay didn't go as planned last year...)
Tiger is also so far the most comfy cosplay I've had the pleasure of wearing; I don't even feel like I'm wearing a wig or a costume at all! Feels like I'm wearing my own clothes, aside from the shoes however that's due to minor complications I've having with my right foot and not the shoes themselves.
As other updates, I'm currently playing around with my schedule for next year and so far I've omitted some costumes I thought I wanted to do and left some in limbo, and I'm conflicted about wearing a Genshin cosplay vs. wearing The Iris Swordsoul. This is because I'm caught between wearing Mona or Shenhe as they're my favourites for my birthday for Fan Expo or doing matching cosplays with my bestie or having money for Iris...it's still undecided but yeah conflicted.

Got some things for Glamrock Chica at Spirit about a week ago(so thankful for their 80s accessories and that they come in the right colors!!) now it's just figuring out the outfit itself mainly the light pink top and skirt(I decided to go with a skirt instead of a leotard, just a personal preference!) likely gonna need to get more fabric though. I could start on the legwarmers since I have that fabric.

Just got home from Anime USA. Had to rush a lot of my cosplay far more than I should have needed to. Con was absolutely amazing and nothing actually broke on the costume. That said, I have plenty of things to fix up to make it actually work as it is supposed to.

I've narrowed down some ideas for next year significantly (but hopefully won't change too much). So far my plans for next year will be me wearing Mona from Genshin at Comicon to help me focus on Anime North to wear The Iris Swordsoul and I'll rewear Mona and my Tiger cosplay to this as well so I can match with my friend.
This leaves an open spot for either Kitt from Yugioh or Shenhe for Fan Expo, and I've already decided to make Shiraig the Omnious Omen for Halloween next year. I know this year's Halloween hasn't even happened yet and waay to early to decide that, but it's more probable that I get things slowly over the course of the year and break down the costume like that to wear it. Trying for Fan Expo but most likely Halloween. Here's hoping \/,

Cool! I'm also thinking about doing a Genshin cosplay started for Sakuracon next spring. I'm thinking Beidou right now, but l also kinda want to do Albedo or Xinyan.
Before that though I've got about three and a half weeks until my next con and I'm gone for one of those, so I am mega con crunching for Vi and (if I have time) Dottore right now. Here's to hoping I can finish it!

Ouch. Good luck with that crunch. I barely, barely finished one costume in my crunch of that kind of time crunch.
Pumpkin head is coming along okay. The outfit I bought for it is nice, but my acrylic paint is like three layers in and still not solid. Very much considering just getting spray paint, despite this supposed to be a scrap usage project. I need to have this orange color done today so I can get the foam clay sculpted and cured in time to paint that as well.

No cons nearby at the present time that I can attend. -so instead, I'm devoting time to working on Halloween costumes for this year. My son decided to do 'Sans' from Undertale, and I'm turning my Captain Jack Sparrow into a 'cursed' version for this year. Shredded fabric has been added,
I replaced the boot cuffs with ripped and distressed leather, and instead of just a normal skull mask I altered a full skull with neck bone cowl and added textures and paint to make it look more 'rotted' as it did in the movie. Got a few kinks to work out with the wig and headscarf, but it's coming along.

Wore my Tiger cosplay last night for Halloween and honestly I wished I had gone to my local card shop (since I'm a Yugioh character it would've made sense) but I needed to get caught up on my art and I'm still dealing with minor complications with my toe and was half expecting to be MIA that day, but turns I was good to go :') (I can still walk, suffice it to say...). Was pretty bummed out this year since it felt anticlimactic. Ah, next year.
Up next is me revamping my Ferrijit cosplay for Fan Days and currently trying to add some holiday flair to it while still keeping her canon design: half red and pink nails (as she's a humanoid cat), a red resistance ribbon instead of blue and adding some holiday decor to the tail band or remaking it red and gold.
