Maybe this is a question that has already been asked, but when in doubt I ask. When you're going through a bit of a difficult time, how do you manage to motivate yourself to create new cosplay projects/photos etc?
Thanks for future replies

Maybe start with a character who is dear to you! And of course, take it slowly, don't force youself.
I'm myself in a situation that I have almost no motivation at all.
But I try to make some plans with my friends who already have been cosplaying with me before.
I have planned to make new costumes for a character I have already cosplayed and make photoshoot with cosplays I already have.

If I'm not really motivated on creating the Whole of a cosplay for whatever reason, I'll just pick parts of cosplays that I have intention to do at some point (that cosplay list is forever growing) and just make those. So maybe I only want to bead, or sculpt or I just want to mindless tease wigs. I don't have to finish one complete cosplay when I'm in a funk, but when I'm out of it, I can check off the boxes that I did do while I was in one.

For myself, if I'm feeling in a less than inspiring mood to work on a cosplay (new or old), I like to look at YouTube videos of other cosplayers making their own costumes, as well as cosplayers sharing vlogs of their con experiences and such. Seeing the process of costumes being made or just seeing people in cosplay having a good time at a con helps motivate me to continue to work on my costumes or jumps start a new idea for a cosplay, completely.

I’ve been away from cosplay for a very long time. I felt discouraged by the more toxic side of the community, where insults were justified with "it's your fault for showing yourself like that."
In truth, I’m still somewhat distant and haven’t attended conventions anymore, so I’ve focused solely on myself.
I found motivation again by trying to combine cosplay with other passions — in my case, post-production. For me, cosplay has become a means to create illustrations.
I realize this approach might not work for everyone, but as others have already suggested, focus on a character you truly love with all your heart.
You could also try finding inspiration by experimenting with new techniques or materials, perhaps something you’ve never tried before. Or, if you’re not feeling up to putting in too much effort right now, even browsing websites that sell cosplay costumes might help reignite your motivation!

Thank you very much for replying. Any advice is really helpful at this time and I will treasure it! I will take small steps and try not to give myself deadlines that can put pressure on me.
