Liquidfire3 Here's the final draft I constructed for the robe. As you can see by all the pins, it went through many many revisions till I had what I liked. I decided to make it a bit longer than the one in the art piece. I knew from the start that I didn't want shoulder seams, in fact I wanted as few seams as possible so I wouldn't have so many to sew together, and because the original piece doesn't have any visible ones.

This was constructed from about 3 different commercial patterns; the seamless sleeve was a bolero jacket for a wedding dress, and the rest was a copulation of different dance outfits. I pieced them together on muslin, then cut out the shapes I wanted.

And the back view. I elongated the center back to give a train, sorta. I made sure to add extra flare to the center back seam to give it more flow. ^_^
