Anime_freak_kai Didn't finish this costume in time for it's debut con. Which was of course disappointing because of all the work I put into it. But it's also a good thing because I now have enough time until the next con and I don't have to rush it.
So here's a shot of the nearly completed tunic. The entire top above the belt is going to be all one piece (nothing is permanently sew together yet) to cut down on layers and make it easier to put on and keep in place. It closes via a hidden zipper in the front.
I just finished hand embroidering the frogs and still working on finishing the edges and adding small details. The "flaps" of the tunic are still being embroidered and will be attached to the belt via snaps.
The white part of the tunic is craft foam with two different linens stretched over it. The inner linen has a pattern/print in it was was imported then lightly dyed to be darker. The gold triangles and detailing is taffeta. More details later.
