smtempThe heels are separate. I just modified the actual heel part, that's it. The boot part is 2 separate pieces connected with zippers I attached using the sculpt or coat I coated the whole boot with.
I wore the heels while making a plaster cast to start the whole project and built up from that cast, forming plastic bags over it till I got the shape I wanted. PM me and I can send you a more extensive tutorial.15 years ago
TransimageWow, that's amazing! I see Model Magic all the time, but I never would have thought that it could be used to make something as amazing (and wearable!) as this.
I have a question about your boots. In one of the other pictures it looks like there's some kind of black base under the Model Magic itself. Did you sculpt over a pair of heels, or are they completely sculpted?15 years ago

smtempI coat it with "Sculpt or Coat" to seal it and make it harder/more durable. There is still a bit of flex to it making it comfortable to wear :D17 years ago
MilesThis is a very interesting way to make armor. I use model magic all the time and notice that it tends to be a little soft and fragile. How did you strengthen it? Your armor is very impressive. I like the way model magic holds it's form and you've seemed to master it.17 years ago
