Camui Tooru as Kyo

Kyo

Dir En Grey

Jealous

Cosplayer: Camui Tooru
This costume was made for Ichiharu 2013, spring Moscow anime convention, where we demonstated it with my friend Kaiten, who cosplayed Die as usual. I've always loved this concept of Dir en Grey because the song 'Jealous' is one of my favourite ones. But our first version of these images was't perfect because we were short of time for making and our wigs didn't arrive in time.

But later in summer we finished these costumes and made a photoshoot with our friends Kaoru, Toshiya and Shinya who had three other cosplays from this concept. Our bandmates call Jealous 'a cursed concept', but I still like it in spite of all the difficulties.

Next time these cosplays appeared on stage in 2015 when Kaiten and I decided sort of to take a new look at this concept and also to give it a decent presentation because our first defile, though it was funny and pleasant to remember, couldn't fully embrace the beauty of this costumes. And it was also significant for me to use original Dir en Grey 'Jealous' track for this performance which I love more than 'Unknown... Despair... A Lost' chosen by Kaiten for the first defile.

And our efforts weren't in vain - we got a 3-nd place by Juri Choice in Cosplay defile at Animania 2015.

But the last and maybe the most important for me presentation of this cosplay took place at J-rock Convention 2016 where I not only wore it on stage again but also sang 'Jealous' alive. I borrowed some images from Dir en Grey 'Jealous' PV and created a performance with a new vision of original plot where my friends Kaiten, Aliksana and Stama played parts of white mannequins and statue enlived by the force of their creator Kyo.

I'm really grateful to my friends who helped me to bring this idea into life. And it was a significant step forward for me as for a vocalist to sing in front of bigger audience than ever.
