DescriptionEven though this costume was built from regular clothes, it turned out to be uncomfortably hot to wear.
The blouse, jacket, and skirt were purchased from thrift stores and altered. The sleeves of the jacket and blouse were shortened, the waist of the jacket nipped in a bit, and a seam opened in the skirt to create the high slit.
The thigh-high stockings and dangly earrings were purchased new. The shoes came from my closet.
The wig is an Arda Le Tigre. It was the most expensive single piece, and cost more than the jacket, blouse, skirt, and stockings combined. (Good wigs are pricey!)
I tried two different kinds of face paint for the forehead design. Both were failures, due to my oily skin and perspiration from getting too warm. Makeup sealer kept the design from smearing, but even Ben Nye matte sealer looked shiny on me.
