Pioneer Spirit - My Sunday Best

The dress is one I made for a university presentation using Simplicity 3723 pattern. I really liked it, but wanted to jazz it up some more.

The lace on the sleeves is crocheted. I adapted the pattern from the skirt of an angel ornament. It was then hand stitched on.

The lace collar is also crocheted. Again I adapted the pattern, this time it was from a collar I found in my grandmother’s house.

The shawl I crochet using scraps I found at my mother’s, grandmother’s and friend’s house.

The bonnet was in some ways the most difficult part of this costume. The pattern is based on a doll’s bonnet pattern. I used some laced that had belonged to my great-grandmother as trim.
