Why did Baru and I decided to do these costumes? I have a rather large soft spot for D.Gray-Man and I've been wanting to do these for a while. When AZ came about and Baru found ourselves with about a week and a half to make something new, it seemed like the perfect opportunity? :D

Overall, pretty simply construction. The jacket is made of a soft pleather, while the pant legging things are made of wet-look pvc (which is rather quickly becoming a favorite fabric of mine). The most time-consuming thing was the eyelets on the pants, which Baru and I were able to complete in an evening (along with not just a few beers...)

Of course, there was also the body paint which had to be applied day of...and that took the better part of 4 hours. Also, it should be noted that applying full body paint evenly -- and keeping it that way! -- is no easy task in May in North Carolina with 110% humidity and 98 degree weather.
