White Mage Yuna
Final Fantasy X-2
DescriptionThis was a true challenge because I had to literally tweek 2 different dresses to obtain my end result and this was my very first time using fabric paints with any of my cosplays.
The first dress, which was the underdress is made out of sateen fabric. It took me 9 hours to create and took 2 hours to hand paint the circles on the purple trim. The trim is made of satin. I had to create some straps because the dress wasn't holding up on it's own. So the total of the underdess by itself was 11 hours and 35 minutes, including the painting.
In terms of the second part, that was another dress, but it was totally different from what had to use. It's made out of satin. I literally had to heavily modify it to what I needed it to be. The original dress took 6 hours to create, but it took me just 4 hours to tweek it. (So the top dress by itself took 10 hours to create, that's not including the trim, designs, and other modifications.)
So, I created long sleeves and they each took only 1 hour to create, so 2 hours for both sleeves. The cuffs themselves took 15 minutes each to create, so 30 minutes for both, but it took me 2 hours each for the hand painting on each cuff. So it took 4 hours to hand paint the designs on the cuffs.
For the trim, it's made of satin fabric and took 45 minutes to create it. In terms of the design, it took 40 minutes to hand paint them.
As for the back, the both trims is made of satin fabric and took me 2 hours to create. 1 hour for the purple and 1 hour for the red. It took 1 hour to add an invisible zipper in the back and 1 hour to hand paint the circles. So 4 hours in total. The overall total of this second part of the White Mage took me 23 hours and 50 minutes.
Fortunately, the hood didn't take long as expected. It took me 1 hour to create the hood itself and 1 hour to create the trim itself. So overall, it took only 2 hours. However, it took me 4 hours to hand paint the crecsent moons on the trim of the hood. For the back of the hood itself, it took me 2 hours and 5 minutes to hand paint the design. The hood overall took me 12 hours and 5 minutes to create.
The overall painting of the White Mage, not including the Summoner's Staff, is 24 hours and 57 minutes.
In terms of the staff, the emblem is made of cardboard and Wonderflex. This was my very first time ever using Wonderflex and it's now my new found friend^^ The spoke is PVC pipe and the handle is a 1/4" dowel board. The Summoner's Staff took me 7 hours to create.
Lastly, the gloves were bought at Party Works and the boots were bought at Overstock.com
So, the overall total construction hours the White Mage took me was 56 hours.
