Hakuouki: Demon of the Fleeting Blossom
DescriptionA last minute decision for the con after Nouhime didn't pan out. There are a few things I'm going to redo -such as making the wrappings a single piece for ease of wear and adding the koshi-ita- but as it stands now, it's pretty well done!
First time with applique, used for both the triangles on the Shinsengumi coat and the mon on his back. The tassels were handmade, since nothing prefab that I could find matched the red. The trim on the jacket is a wide bias cut from the same red as the wrappings and mon.
Aside from the mon and triangles, there were NO actual patterns used. It's cut entirely from rectangles and the curve of the jacket was made through trial and error on scrap fabric. The closest "pattern" I used was an explanation of the differences in hakama styles from the Edo to the Meiji eras so that I could get it as close as possible to the reference images.
