Arielle as Cherry

Saber Marionette J

Cosplayer: Arielle
Wow, where to start with this one? Manis, Mochi and I decided to do a group cosplay for the first time (we're newbies, I know!) and were planning on doing Ah! My Goddess! for months, but changed our minds at the last minute and decided to do Saber Marionette J instead. So we ordered our wigs and got to Michael's, JoAnn's, Targhetto, and other various retail locals, hehe...and put off sewing anything until the night before the convention! ...well, some of us (meaning me) did haha.

We pulled an all-nighter sewing, painting, glueing, mod-podging, etc. and this is the result. Needless to say it could have been better with more time, but I still love these costumes. Manis and Mochi got lucky and were able to modify some articles of clothing to make theirs, but my kimono-dress had to be completely made from scratch. Partly because of time and partly b/c I liked it better this way, I made a different version of Cherry's costume. It's not as common, since she only wore the outfit I cosplayed once that I could tell in the anime, (I think it was the 3rd episode with her in it...), it's a shorter version of her usual dress, white/lt. pink tights and geta shoes instead of her normal large clunkers, haha! I think it's supposed to be her summer yukata. Got my wig off ebay, and it came literally THE DAY OF THE CONVENTION! So cutting and really styling it was out of the question-I did what i could! ^^ It's a yucky wig but eh...what can ya do? Unfortunately, Mochi's wig never came! )-: So Bloodberry was a brunette. One of the BEST things about our costumes were the sound effects! B/c the marionettes squeak with each step, we strategically hid cat toy squeakers w/in our costumes so we'd do the same. We got such an amazing reaction-we really didn't do much at the con besides pose for pictures! Every three steps we were stopped-and we loved every minute of it. It made us so happy pple thought our cosplay was so close to the anime. ^_________^

The hardest part of the day was when I was trying to drive to the Long Beach Convention Center-I couldn't turn my head to see where I was going! Almost got in a few accidents, and we were definitely lost for a good 1/2 hour, haha, but thank the Lord we made it safe and sound. Funny thing-we passed "Lime" and "Cherry" Streets on the way. (-;

**I COULD NOT have done this w/o Manis and Mochi! they are the bestest<3**
