Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion
DescriptionThis is one costume where my abnormally long torso actually works to my advantage! The proportions, especially the front strapping, were a big challenge, and I spent a lot of time measuring and experimenting before I even though about cutting my good fabric.
I put a lot of time and thought into choosing the colours out of the five thousand tiny variations that inevitably occur whenever CLAMP designs anything. I didn't want to use any true white or true black, so I used a very dark navy for the trim and offwhite pleather for the sleeves and belt.
The fabrics I chose for the bodysuit and legwarmers/undershirt were both the perfect colour and texture but a bit thin for what I wanted, so each are lined with 2-3 layers of stretch interfacing. I think I actually spent more on interfacing than fabric.
I devoted a bit of brainpower to designing the closure(s). If you can figure out how I get in and out of it, you get a cookie. ^_^
PikaChii I know! I know!! *jumps up and down* Is it an invisible zip at the back of the neck??
Rainhorse did you ninja your way out of it?....oh gawd, it would take a miracle to get out of that cuz I don't see any zippers I think.... oh well, it looks awsome!
Lando Your Kallen was wicked awesome at Wizard World! ^_^
