I really was looking forward to finishing this oufit, I'm sure I'll make other outfits Hitagi wears in the series.
The loafers and socks I already had from previous cosplays. I ordered a plus size girls' uniform skirt and shortened it to the appropriate length above the knees. The additional fabric from the skirt was used for the tie, since both the skirt and tie are navy in color. The shirt was the most difficult part of the costume since it was the first time I had to make a pocket, button holes, and mutton sleeves. The pocket was simple to figure out after examing other articles of clothing. For the button holes, I was able to borrow a co-worker's machine since my own sewing machine doesn't have a buttonhole option. The mutton sleeves were rather difficult to figure out at first, but after a few attempts at patterning it I was able to understand the concept. I decided to use a stretch twill for the pink part of the shirt, so the top would be more flattering on the figure.
The red plush crab isn't in the series. I made it to function as a purse while I'm walking around in costume. I based the crab's design after the spider crab she encounters in the Hitagi Crab episodes.
I decided to have a collection of staplers, one bearing a likeness to the one she weilds in the series (a big thank you to Iorie E for providing the link). The other art supplies featured in some pictures are items I've already had in my possession.
I'm planning on creating both the bento boxes featured in episode 12. The food items are modeled out of clay and then fired in my oven. It was actually quite fun to figure out the textures of the food. Various pieces are painted with acrylic paint.
