Kabuki Revolution Extreme
Inspired by kabuki and Dance Dance Revolution
DescriptionI don't even want to go into how much work is in these costumes. They say never to use satin in a costume, but we used and abused it. We used and abused (mostly abused, with heat torture) lame, which was absurd but turned out beautiful. There's glitter-covered sheer in this, cotton, wool, chamois, crepe-back satin, baroque satin, a horrid swimsuit material, three types of satin rope, 12-gauge wire, 100 LED lights, fiber-optics, and more. My kimono weighs almost 40 pounds. The make-up and costumes together take three hours to get on.
We plan to enter this in the Costume-Con historical masquerade.
WARPAINTandUnicorns I love it! It puts a huge grin on my face.
epierce001 What a great idea! I assume they asked for something that mixes elements of traditional Japan with elements of present-day Japan? DDR Kabuki is absolutely BRILLIANT. And the costumes look like they took 10 years to make, a day to put on and weigh about 100 pounds. I hope you win every award in existence, because you deserve them.
