Princess Ruto

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

My Princess Ruto costume began, quite honestly, as a joke. The inspiration lingered within me in that manner until a singular night in which I could not sleep, when I decided, because its capability to be the most difficult, complex, and gorgeous costume that I could have created, that I would definitely construct it.
The most challenging aspect of it was the problem-solving (namely the fitting of the headpiece and the assembly of the fins) and the pieces that I enjoy the most are the painting of the back and the fins.
The costume also required me to apply an extensive volume of makeup which included, but was not limited to, kryolan and latex.
Although entering the costume spanned hours and the headpiece eventually caused my head to be covered with massive blisters for a week after the convention in which I debuted it, I am not at all annoyed with the result. Rather, I believe that, thus far, it is the costume that brings me the most pride: I am still ecstatic that I was able to make it and hope to, at least once, wear it again.
