Halloween Witch

I wanted to celebrate one of my favorite holidays by making a Halloween-inspired outfit. I was hoping to use some Anime styled halloween outfits, so I typed in "Anime Halloween Girl" on google and found this design! It was just a random design but I loved it!

I did change a few things, I made the skirt a poofy circle skirt instead of a flat pleated skirt, and I made the wand more like a staff.

I used Simplicity Pattern 8851 for the skirt and the vest (altering the vest to make it tie in the back). The skirt is serged then roll hemmed, and the vest is fully lined with a fun purple and black halloween print (like a cute little secret).

I also made the petticoat using orange tule and a stretchy waistband.

The shirt is actually two shirts sewn together and then I added the orange collar and cuffs (the cuffs were then trimmed with black lace).

My hat is made from a soft pleather, and the pumpkin is made from thin sintra.

The earrings were little green plastic gems that I had since I was twelve, in which I glued a small hand drawn skull to the back(so it showed through).

I bought the wig and tights, and already had the shoes from my Harvest moon witch.

The staff is made from a carving pumpkin which I bought from Hobby Lobby. I had to buy a white pumpkin then spray paint it pumpkin orange because the only pumpkins that didn't have a huge hole in the bottom were the white pumpkins...(made no sense)..
I then cut a small hole into the bottom and inserted the wooden staff with some hot glue. The crown is super thin sintra in which I rub n buffed, and the wings were made from some kind of board. I then inserted a battery powered tea light to give it a spooky subtle glow.

This costume was both warm and comfortable! It's now my second favorite costume after my Harvest Goddess!
