Description

I am making a historical gown for a school course. It will be historically accurate, using historical techniques and historically appropriate materials.

Corset:
-based on a design from 1910
-single layer of white coutil
-Around 14 1/4" spiral steel bones, and two 1/2" spring steels
-prussian tape boning channels, twill waist tape and handmade coutil bias binding
Approx. total: $100 (for coutil mock-up and finished corset)

Combination underwear:
-based on a 1910 garment in the Met Costume Institute collection
-made of champagne cotton batiste with tea-dyed cluny lace trim and lace appliques
Approx. total: $35

Petticoat:
-2m of champagne cotton batiste
-3m of white lace
Approx. total: $25

Gown:
-8.5 yds of silk chiffon
-5 yds silk crepe
-1m champagne cotton batiste
-1m tulle
-Seed beads and bugle beads for trim/applique
-10 yds organza ribbon
Running total: $400

Shoes:
-pre-ordered white Astoria shoes from American Duchess
Total: $150

Gloves:
-pair of vintage pink leather gloves from Etsy
Total: $25
