Made for World Cosplay Summit Mexico 2014. My partner and I qualified for the finals again this year! :D Team Hello Penguin, fighting!

The black parts, tail and crown are all beaded, fabrics are mainly tafetas and the white area has an overlayer of shiny tulle (my house still shines a month later xD).

Also... it is a NIGHTMARE to wear this dress. It has to be taped down all around my chest and torso, and I'm wearing very high platforms underneath the dress (stilts would have been better). The crown is so big that I couldn't get into a cab like a normal person. I'm pretty much useless when I'm wearing it, I can't reach the top of my head easily, I need to walk like a Geisha and I can't sit. My partner had to put on the wig and crown form me, she also glued the stones to my chest. I have glitter all over my body too (some people tought I had some sort of fabric covering the chest area and poked me xD then realized it was my skin. It was awkward).

It took about three hours to get into this dress the first time, including make up. The second time we managed to lower it to two hours.

By the end of the day I was totally exhausted, but it was TOTALLY worth it! I had so much fun despite it all, and I love this dress so much! I'm sad all I have are backstage and skit photos :(
