Kid Icarus: Armored Palutena

  • This is a concept that my girlfriend and I have thought about for a while. And one day, we plan to do this for her:

So how would we go about starting on it? Of course, we'd have the long green wig and black bodysuit (worn underneath the armor). But as for the armor, how would it be done? Isn't it hard plastic of sorts?
Lots of other people out there have tried armor like this and made it look as metallic as possible, right? How could we pull that off with it?

Any ideas on how to go about putting this together? Thanks! x3

  • Omg. I love the design and the concept! I drew a Formal Hades design that I'm currently working on. Yay original designs!

As for the armor, I suggest something sturdy such as Worbla. But if you want, as a suggestion, perhaps turn certain parts into clothing? As in, like a plastic/vinyl type? Mostly for certain parts of the legs, arms, and the area around the waist. Using worbla for the arms, lower legs, and breast plate are the smarter option because more sturdy. I'm only suggesting the fabric alternative because of movement and comfort issues.

Normally I suggest craft foam but for something like this, not so much. Haha. You'll need a thermoplastic like Worbla or Wonderflex, which you can buy online [I suggest cosplay supplies]. There are also plenty and plenty of tutorials online, the best being from Kamui Cosplay, as she has a few books released on armor making [and even props].
