Can anyone tell me the best time to register for either radisson or double tree for next year? coz I want to book a room as early as I can

They finally got some sense this year after those cutthroat room rushes of past years (plus, the Rad is renovating and the DT is going to as well as another ownership change), so none are going to take reservations until they announce it. Tgey didnt say when, though. Your best bet is to check the AN site or facebook regularly for updates.

Yeah, the Radisson said to just check on the website when I asked on Sunday (I was told to check Monday but I didn't see anything change). Crowne Plaza did have a block in their system, but it wasn't available to be booked yet (she told me it had just been set up on the Monday, so she wasn't sure when it was going to open for reservations).

I didn't bother calling the IP/DT as I saw a post online saying they weren't taking reservations.

I'm not 100% sure what's happening with the Sheraton, but when I called I was told that they were fully booked. Not that the block wasn't open, but that they were sold out (I actually had a helpful guy on the phone that actually knew what AN was, and he went to check with a colleague to see if the block wasn't available yet or if it was, indeed, sold out). He told me to keep checking back so...it could be sold out like he said, or they could be holding the block. No idea, really.

I also called the Westin, but was told the dates didn't go out that far yet (I think I was just speaking to regular reservations though, who didn't really know what the convention was).

I can concur that the Sheraton said they were booked, even though I called Sunday evening. I imagine Doubletree is similarly pointless. Crowne and Radisson are not open yet, they said two weeks.

Sheraton said the same thing last year, but it's not started booking yet from what I can tell. For some reason it appears booked until the block actually opens?

It's only in cases like this that i'm nervous....

Yes the hotel waiting game begins again. ;)

I'm worried about being away and the hotel booking will open. However we are staying with some friends next year so we both agreed to try and book a room. One of us will give the other to someone we know who needs it.

I hope you're right. Sheraton is probably the best hotel there in my experience.

When i tried to book monday after the con, Sheraton said they had rooms and that the block was open, but they were essentially blocked from being able to book them. Something about not having the rates yet. They kept saying book a normal room outside the block and then switch to the anime north rate in september. Problem is there are no flarkin' rooms outside the block, so I had to give up for the time being.
@xshedevilx, I hear you there. I'm worried about missing the announcement for the hotels too. Hopefully they don't just suddenly announce it on the day that hotel bookings open and screw over half of us.

Crowne Plaza is open! Got my room yesterday. Got to call in.

Friend of mine booked a room there too.

I booked a backup at the Residence Inn. You can still walk to the con over the bridge but save some money on food because they have a FULL kitchen in the room!

I wonder if the Holiday Inn East is booking yet.

If you can make a deposit for your entire stay they sure are! But nothing about AN yet.

If its refundable i am okay with that but I would rather be in something like the Rad, Sheraton or Delta....

The Plaza said late 2016 and early 2017. They aren't doing it because of the room rush, they are being fully renovated as they switch owners which includes their renovation book system as it said on many signs though out the lobby of the hotel during the con. I would assume this is to keep rooms from getting lost when they do the ownership switch. Many people lost their rooms when Doubletree went to IP in the middle of the year last time.
