Hey there folks! This fall I'm going to my first con and I've finally decided I want to cosplay as Belarus (I'm going with a friend who's cosplaying as America and I'm a sucker for the AmeBel pairing, so I thought this would be perfect). Thing is, my budget is gonna be unbelievably tight for a while, so I was wondering if anyone knew of any cheap yet reliable places to buy cosplay costumes. Everywhere I've looked at is either really expensive or really sketchy/didn't get good reviews.

What's your budget exactly?

Welp, I really don't wanna spend more than $150 if I don't need to (I get paid a hundred dollars a month or so for various odd jobs). So far I've looked at different places trying to get some different quotes and now I'm just deciding who to go with.

One person on Etsy that I'm thinking of hiring to commission my cosplay does really good work and also judges some of the cosplay contests at Otakon so she knows her stuff. Thing is, she wants $200 (shipping included) but she told me I don't need to pay her up front. Another person on Etsy only wants $65 not including shipping. Although her examples of her work are really good, I'm a tad skeptical that she wants so little when everyone else I ask on Etsy wants at least $250.

And then of course there's ebay, but I'm a little wary when it comes to ebay. Usually they're pretty cheap until shipping/customs fees are concerned. That said, most of the reviews I've seen on ebay (depending on the seller of course) are pretty good and people seem pretty happy with things they've bought.

$60 does seem a little sketchy and $200 is a great price for a commission c: I know of a site called cosplayfu that I can assure you is VERY reliable (I got my America jacket from them) if you're interested, their Belarus cosplay is about $100
