I just found out that I have a con to go to in 10 days. I have a mostly finished Jeff the Killer cosplay. My only concern is makeup. I know what I can use and what options I have for a cosplay if I had more time to prepare. So what I'm looking for are easy to find alternatives to white face paint, fake blood, spirit gum (I don't actually know where you get that period)...I mean if you know what Jeff the killer looks like then that would probably help. but I don't have time to wait for all the Halloween makeup to start appearing, and I want to gamble buying things online when I can't be certain that they'll get here in time. My plan B is simply to use makeup you could find in a beauty store or Walmart or something, but I'd like some suggestions as to which ones to use.

We're not that far off from Halloween now, you likely have a seasonal store starting to fill in somewhere. At the very least if you have a year-round party store (like Party City) they do sell some basics year-round and I can confirm they've been starting to put out more specific Halloween stuff for almost a month now already. You can find everything you need there, including spirit gum or an equivalent.

I'm not sure what you'd be spirit gumming but I think I've heard eyelash glue can work for some items in a pinch though assuming it's not too heavy.

I live in a small town. Next to other small towns and a Walmart (been there, they have Halloween stuff but not a lot). I don't have many choices. the eyelash glue though maybe, so thanks for that bit.

First off, I'd check the website for Spirit of Halloween, you'll find a couple open near you right now. They'll have plenty of that sort of stuff (I cleaned out a couple of my local ones last year AFTER Halloween on the closeout sale).

Having said that, I found this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TyyzZtFtLVk and https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2HNoNQTEZns
Make sure to read the comments on the second one, there's apparently a primer made from baby oil and aloe vera.

From there, it's just applying enough black around the eyes, I think. I'm guessing a bit at the makeup practices. That's a nearly-virgin field for me.

Party city will have fake blood and all sorts of other basic "halloween makeup." They tend to carry this year round for sports events, but its definitely close enough now for them to have anything you'd need.

If you have a Halloween Express near you they'll probably have spirit gum; I know the one near me does.

They also have plenty of fake blood and face paint in general, though my local Walmart has their Halloween makeup out now too.
