I know I'm more of a lurker than a poster but I've come out the woodwork to show you my latest project and my biggest one to date. I recently started a Dark Heresy RPG with some friends of mine and have become rather attached to my Sister of Battle character, so I've decided to turn her into a cosplay.

Link to my blog is below:

I'm updating my blog solely with the build at the moment. It is also a fashion blog so don't be alarmed if the odd post about clothes or makeup pops up!

Nice! I wanna see armor next! Is it the catoness by chance?

Armour is coming, I just need my Worbla to show up lol!

The whole thing is kind of my own design, because I have a disability that means I need to be able to get the thing off quickly in an emergency, so it's an 'original' design based around the proper design. I've had a few people I've shown the design to totally hate it because it's not 'correct' but they don't seem to understand that some people have to make concessions to their physical needs.

I can't find the sketch right now but if I do I'll take a photo of it and post it up. If this one works out I'm going to try and see if I can upgrade to Saint Celestine. I love that miniature and I reckon I could make it. Maybe. We'll see!

Ah thats great. Honestly people shouldnt complain you are doing more than they ever have already. As long as you have the banner and color scheme it will still be recognizable.

Helloo fellow UK cosplaying lady :) I love to see warhammer costumes at cons so I will enjoy seeing this one progress. And yeah, as for the people giving you stick because you have made some practical and necessary alterations to your design? They are insensitive twits and you should pay them no mind. Pfft.

Ahh hello fellow UK cosplaying lady back at you!

Progress has stalled slightly at the moment due to ill health, too much actual real money earning work (yay overtime, but also no, no more overtime) and me having the audacity to go on holiday. Next weekend I have free to do anything on this is... not this weekend but the one after.

I am ignoring the people giving me stick but there's always a few in every circle of friends. It just annoys me that they don't seem to comprehend that I need an easily removable costume in case of medical emergency. It's okay for them because they're all fine and fit and healthy and can entirely encase themselves in Worbla. I can't. There's a reason I've invented the 'Easy-Pee' method of costume design! Which is literally what it sounds like, costumes you can easily remove or detach so you can bathroom. I designed one for a diabetic friend of mine and he is still eternally grateful for my skills in concealed zips and poppers.

Possibly TMI but yes... I hate nitpickers.

Progress will recommence shortly. Apologies for the delay. I might make a couple of purity seals in the meantime before any proper building happens. At least my Worbla has arrived.

UK people, if you can't get Worbla from the more popular suppliers I highly recommend a company called Parkin Fabrics as your first port of call. Excellent service and prompt delivery. They're also a great place to get millinery sundries, such as feathers and clips. It's very easy to get lost on their website and end up spending more than you intended.
