Hello. I'm Aya. I have been cosplaying for a few years now and normally I work with my best friend as a cosplay duet. But now, I have begun planning a group cosplay for the anime/manga series; Rurouni Kenshin.

So far I have Kaoru, Masao, Yahiko, and myself as Megumi. (I also potentially have a Shishio)

I'm looking for two people to be Kenshin and Sanosuke.
For Kenshin, he can be a guy or crossplayed by a girl (I don't have a preference on that since he is fairly effeminate).
For Sanosuke I would prefer a guy that is tall (or at least taller than me, I am 5"5.5 and so far the tallest in the group; my Kaoru is I think 5"0). It is preferable that both need to be fit.

I am trying to start planning/creating the costumes soon so they can be ready for next year's megacon. (also if you're crafty that's a plus)

If interested, please let me know! Either post here or message me. :)

I may be interested - I always love bringing out my Kenshin to wear. :D My boyfriend might be interested in joining as Sano, too. I'm 5'0" and he's 6'1". Since we already have one of the two costumes it should be a piece of cake.

Awesome!! :)

I did check out your gallery to your Kenshin and your cosplay looks great!

I feel like I should plan a meetup for everyone (excluding Masao because she goes to school in Sarasota).

Now I will be making my Megumi and Masao's costumes. I'm not sure if Kaoru and Yahiko wants me to make their costumes or not; we haven't had an opportunity to talk about it much (we work together).

Wow holy crap, my first MegaCon in a long while and there's actually a RuroKen group? THIS IS AWESOME. Alas, all the outfits I have are already taken characters. XD I have Kenshin, Kaoru, and Megumi already set and ready; actually, Kaoru and Megumi just waiting to see the light of day (haven't had the opportunity to wear them yet). Pfft, if I see you guys you may just have an extra of one the characters wandering around. XD

I've yet to decide which I will be taking though. All of them are real kimono, and Kaoru's kimono in particular I'm really overprotective of because of how much it took to get everything together. At the same time, I have to admit to not really feeling Kenshin - I love him, don't get me wrong, but I absolutely adore female kimono over male... So you're likely to have an extra of Kaoru or Megumi if you're not minding too much. ^^;

Cosplaying in groups is really fun and I've, unfortunately, never had the opportunity to really do so any longer than ten minutes. ;A; RuroKen in particular just seems like it'd be such a fun group.

EDIT: Holy crap, I just realized that the first day of Megacon falls on my birthday. I KNOW WHAT I'M ASKING MY PARENTS FOR OHOHOHO.

Awesome. Yea that would be fun to meet up with you at the con. :3

But yea, I need a Kenshin (and at this point Sanosuke would really be a plus). I don't know enough people which is why I chose to ask on here and on the cosplayers of florida facebook group page. But so far, no real answer.

I would cosplay as him, but I'm not into crossplaying. Which is why I chose to be Megumi (originally I wanted to be Misao but... I'm the tallest girl so I have to be Megumi lol).

My limit to complete this group is by December (since I want to get started on sewing and whatnot). If you know anyone interested, please let me know!!!

Well if Hime can't end up doing it, I can be a Kenshin, no problem. Much like her, I too am five feet tall, and I have Kenshin already ready. XD The more I think about it, the less I'm inclined to go as Kaoru just because... well, I said it before, expensive kimono. ^^; And Megumi I wasn't really invested in, I just already had the stuff for her. Funnily enough, I DO have a Misao... But I'm not really happy with the obi... I suppose there's time though and I could make a better one, if I have the time. Whatever the case, I'm definitely open to joining regardless, even if I'd be going as an extra.

I'd help you out with a Sanosuke, alas, a lot of my friends aren't into cosplay.

Reily, if you want it's all yours! :) I think the boyfriend and I are going to be focusing on Bravely Default costumes for Mega.

Aw, thanks then! I bet your BD will look awesome!

Aya, question though - still perfectly willing to be Kenshin, but what day are you planning arranging the group for? I would've said any day is cool but then I saw the three day bracelet price tag and YIKES, I don't think I can afford all three days. I'll probably only go Friday and Saturday if that's the case...

Awesome. I was going to get worried if I didn't have a Kenshin lol.

We were planning on going only Saturday.
I also don't have the finances to go all weekend. ^^;

I need to talk to the other ladies first just so we are all on the same page for that.

I look forward to seeing your BD cosplay!!! I have yet to play the game, but I will soon since I've been itching to play it!

I'll just make the grand assumption that Saturday is definitely a go then. XD I think I might actually redo my Kenshin kimono for this - I found a bolt that I think will suit him better in this case. So chances are I'll make this re-debut for the updated costume. :3

Hey there, listen I'm sorry. Despite all my attempts, I won't be attending MegaCon this year. Again, I'm really sorry, but money's tight and I have no means of transportation unfortunately. DX
