Woody (Toy Story) Boots Suggestions

This thread is archived.

  • Hey all,

I'm hoping this is being asked in the right place as the last thread I started never got posted for some reason. If this is in the wrong place, could a mod move it to the right area, please? Thanks.

So, I'm doing a Woody from Toy Story cosplay and most of what I need is done/in the process of being done, but I'm having big issues finding a boot that looks like the ones Woody wears that I can customise to make them look even more like the ones he wears.

Has anyone seen something that would be suitable?

    Thanks!

  • I see two main options. Find a simple brown cowboy boot and add the spurs. Or start with any simple shoe and add a good cover. It would probably need to be a fairly sturdy material for the top part of the boot to make it stand up like Woody's. Good luck.

    Thanks for the advice, gypsy_girl.

I was actually going to buy a plain looking tan cowboy boot and then add the detailing that Woody's boot has on the side and the spurs afterwards but the trouble with tan cowboy boots (that I've seen) is that a plain version isn't available and all of them have some sort of design on the side. I'm going to keep looking as I'm sure there are options out there somewhere.

  • Has anyone used ezcosplay.com for a commission before? I wanted to contact them regarding the boots I need, to see the services they provide. I know cosplaying is all about making it yourself (which I have for 90% of the costume) but I don't mind experts making something like the boots (as I can see me failing massively) and chances are, if I get someone who knows what they're doing to make them, they'll bound to look incredible.

We do have a review section here for this sort of thing if you scroll down far enough on the main forum page; you'll likely find it under the "other reviews" section or possibly "commissioner review section". Anyway I did a quick browse using the search feature at the bottom of the section and I'm linking you all the reviews I could find there starting with the most recent and ending with the oldest. Customer experience seems to vary wildly.

    Thanks for the reply :)

You're right as from those reviews from others, they do look like you either have an amazing experience with them or it's a bit of a nightmare. They're an option for a commission but from reading some reviews, they seem to be very slow at delivering which is something that I cant have with this, unfortunately.

Either way, I'll get to the bottom of getting this sorted. Thanks again, Chiagirl
