I'm gonna be cosplaying Hinata Shouyo who's eyes look like this:

but my eyes are significantly not brown, they're basically a very light blue/grey and i haven't seen a lot of brown/orangey contacts that seem to work well for light coloured eyes.
or maybe i just haven't looked too hard....hmm

i also have astigmatism and i'm not sure if that'd effect buying coloured contacts for strictly cosplay, i don't overly care much about my vision being the same without my glasses on cause i can still see okay

any ideas?

Get contacts with smaller iris holes, they might obstruct your view but will cover your eye color better.

I've only bought on Honeycolor so I'm not the best for advice lol. You can usually tell by the picture if they're meant for dark or light eyes. For instance these are a good color but a very big hole. Hope you find something that works!

I have probably the same eye color as you (a light blue-gray) and I've had several of my cosplay friends ask me for lens suggestions for the same type of color that you are looking for. I've always recommended the Geo Starmish Brown for that kind of orange-brown, almost caramell-colored eyes. I'm known around my friends as 'the lens guru' so yeah, feel free to PM me for more suggestions; I know almost all circle lenses that are currently in the market. xD I can tell you that a light orange-ish brown like that is quite rare to find and, especially, one that will look good on light eyes. Starmish Brown is one of the few I've managed to find that does the job.

Here's a link to a trustable store where you can buy the Starmish Brown lenses:

I've been a long-time customer of said store for years and never had any issues. They sell authentic lenses and have free shipping, even if you buy just one pair. Also, with the discount code SAMURAI15 you can get 15% off on anything you buy. ;)

Psst, if you are interested I do circle lens reviews on my blog. ^^ I have a compiled list of everything that I've reviewed here and you might find it helpful ~

do you have any pictures of the starmish brown contacts in use? a lot of the reference images are on people with brown eyes already. so far they seem like one of the better options 0: thank you very much!

I actually have this pair myself but I haven't opened/reviewed them yet, sadly. I can say though that one of my best friends had these lenses (she also has light eyes) for cosplay and the color was indeed a caramell-like brown, really pretty and with good color coverage and vibrancy; I saw her wear those lenses IRL. It's a great cosplay lens and there's not too much of your real eye color showing through in the center either and, especially, for being a circle lens with notable enlargement.
I did a quick Google search and found this little review someone with light-ish eyes did, maybe it can give you an idea what the lenses will look like on someone who does not have dark brown eyes: click
