So I wasn't planning on making anything new for Sakuracon this year since I'm trying to focus on finding a home to buy this spring (yay adulting), but I've also been feeling bad about ditching out on doing a duo Overwatch cosplay with my new friend like I initially hyped her up for. So I've been working on whipping up a table tennis Mei outfit, and since most of the items will just be premade store- or Amazon-bought stuff I'm striving to get the most accurate premade things I can find.

One of my hang-ups has been on the socks, they've proven very difficult to find. What's frustrating is I've been playing a ton of Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp since it was released, and they have this exact style of sock in-game (called a "soccer sock") but I just can't find it anywhere online. The closest I've come so far are these but as you can see they have two stripes instead of one. Not normally that big a deal, but since there's not much to this costume I really want to get what few details it has perfect.

So my questions are: how hard would it be to by white crew socks, block out a single stripe, then dye the rest blue? I'm worried the usual materials for store-bought socks may not take well to dye. Conversely, what about buying blue socks (which have been impossible to find in the right color anyway) and just using fabric paint to add the stripe? I'm worried about fabric paint restricting an item that needs to be highly flexible and is prone to stretching.

I may just break down and buy the socks I linked above since I'll need to order everything soon, but I wanted to see how feasible these other options would be.

Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill.

Buy the blue socks with two stripes, use a fabric marker to turn one stripe blue to match the rest of the socks. done.

Aw, but that's like my favorite thing to do!

This is a pretty reasonable fix though, I forgot fabric markers outside of black are a thing. And the blue is a pretty standard blue, too. Especially since the socks I found come in a 6-pack, I can see if I like the look with a fabric marker or just go with the two stripes if I don't. And then I guess figure out what I'm going to do with 4 extra pairs of blue socks...

when it comes to house stuff, pay extreme attention to how the loans work
and read every word on the paperwork realtors hand you

ive seen a few people so far get screwed on thier loan cause it was written very specific
and they missed a step to get the loan amount they were expecting

and realtors have some rather underhanded tricks in thier paperwork
regularly (it seems) such as lines where you agree to cut out the seller
from the closing bonus or such that otherwise would get split (tween seller and realtor)
