Hi I'm Chris I've been shooting for about 3 years or so but didn't really start getting really into it until this year. I've been shooting for fun at this point but I'm really interested in getting more serious with it. I shoot often at Disneyland because it's a great place to practice. I recently started going to more conventions and did a shoot for a friend and it's really gotten into shooting more. I do also like to do edits of shots I've done.

Let me know what you think:

Blizzcon | 2013 - http://flic.kr/s/aHsjMd37j8 (still in process of editing a few more, there weren't as many cosplayers on Saturday)

Let me know what you think! I'll be at Long Beach Comic Con in a few weeks.

I think these are all pretty good. I especially like the editing. In terms of framing, I would have more of the costume in frame. Usually for a series for cosplay I'll have 50% full body, 25% headshot/half quarter body and 25% experimental. Full bodies are the hardest and require the most direction, ofcourse, but I feel like this field deserves it with the craftsmanship and focus on the costume.

Are you looking to also transfer from hallway shots to directed shoots?

Overall, I like your work!

Thank you! Love your work as well, the editing is awesome.

Yeah I think eventually I would like to go for directed shoots. I do like the hallway stuff since it feels more natural but of course you always have the issue of people around. I tend to only bring two lenses when I go to the conventions and end up staying with the Canon 85mm since it's so quick and I guess i'm not at the point where I feel comfortable holding up a single cosplayer for a few shots where I can get a full frame shot. Which kinda limits me to the portrait like shots.

There's a big difference between event coverage shots and shots that you take the time to edit to make it one of a kind. If you go on the Japanese curecos website, you'd be amazed at the kind of photos people can take... it makes me feel so jelly but then again it makes you want to look at it and see how you can get similar photos.
