I've been looking at cosplays on here of various sailor scouts, hoping to find patterns or suggestions for fabrics to use but to no avail. This will be my second cosplay to make myself. My first one I'm still working on, which is Spider Woman. I'm almost finished and already want to start planning my next one!

I have already bought an ice skaters outfit pattern and I'm also wondering if theres a specific pattern people use for the bows, maybe another pattern for the skirt, and what types of fabrics to use. I will keep searching, but any help would be appreciated! Thank you~

A lot of people make "loop bows", which are like the bows you find on arts and crafts. I would make them out of rectangular shapes, interfaced and folded accordion style! I have used a variety of materials, from spandex to casa satin. I highly recommend a knit for the white body suit, like a thick athletic spandex, and for the colored parts of the fabric, casa satin, duchess satin, or cotton sateen always looks nice!

For the skirt, I drafted a circle skirt pattern measured to the length I needed it in.

I struggled with the bows. I tried making them in several different ways. I found the loop ,method described the easiest and they seem to hold their shape the best. In addition to having the interfacing as their backing, the folded fabric adds to their stability.

I second what has already been said about various materials to use. I wanted a more matte look to my Saturn Fuku so I didn't use anything shiny. So I use a two way stretch, thicker purple fabric I found. Super happy with the results so far!

One tip I have discovered too late, is if you plan on cosplaying any other scouts at a later date you can make a base fufu. Meaning you can make the collar, bows, and skirt all detachable so you can just switch their colors out! Saves time and money!
