(As the convention is nearly over and there are still the 2014 threads stickied, with no word of a 2015 series of threads, I am taking the liberty of making them. Mods, if this could be stickied, I'd gladly appreciate it.)

What were the pros and cons of this year's Megacon to you? Anything (Panels, events, vendors) that you enjoyed? How about things you weren't so keen on? Voice your compliments and complaints here.

Also, you can discuss the particulars of the convention, such as the events, panels, masquerade, dances, etc., as well as what you thought about the con and hotel staff, the guests, convention space, food, dealer's room, attendees, and whatever else pertaining to this year's MegaCon!

(Thanks again to NiGHTmaren for last year's thread structure. Even if I'm copy and pasting and stealing bits and pieces, I have to give credit where it's due!)

Had a blast. It didn't seem quite a insanely-packed as last year, probably because it was back in the larger area and they didn't have the Walking Dead cast this time.

My only real disappointment was pretty minor, and hopefully not indicative of a trend. At the Doctor Who Companions panel on Saturday we were told after the first few minutes that no photography was allowed. If this was a courtesy thing so people's views wouldn't get blocked by cameras and phones I can understand (although the guests were on a high enough platform that shouldn't have been too much of an issue). But they also didn't pose for a group shot at the end, which is fairly common. I wasn't disappointed with the panel itself at all, very funny and fast-paced and some good questions were asked and answered. But I really wish the no-photos restriction had been mentioned anywhere at all before I bought the $75 premium ticket to get up close to get better pictures :)

As I said, if it was to make a better experience for the fans I understand. I'm afraid it might have been because the photo op companies have been getting tougher on any photos being taken of stars anywhere at all besides their booths, and that's a trend I think will only make the cons more impersonal and less fun with no benefit other than the photo op companies making more money. Hope that's not it, and this was a one-off thing.

My first year going. I was pleased with my experience. For the size, the lines weren't bad. Crowd control in celebs photo ops had a good system. Little less so in the autograph area. I wish there was a different section for that, away from the main dealer hall. The hall itself was mostly OK too (peak Saturday hours aside).

Walking around in the main hallways was pleasant, people seemed nice and looked like they were having a good time. Saw some surprisingly good and/or creative costumes. Registration was awesome quick!

Only "negatives" was the lack of panels for a con that supposedly draws 60-70k people. It had a surprising small con feel.
