Witcher 3 Geralt Cosplay: Best Looking Armor? Suggestions/Advice

This thread is archived.

  • Hey all, I've been wanting to start a Geralt cosplay for some time but I'm having trouble deciding which armor set to try as I'm not too fond of the vanilla armor. Here are the options I'm considering. I've cosplayed before but this will definitely be the biggest challenge yet. Any comments are appreciated!

  • I have only played the first two Witcher games so far, but I personally think the Manticore armor set looks the best. From what I can tell, it looks like an updated, highly detailed version of Geralt's default armor from the first game.

I'm not sure what your comfort level is or time restrictions for this in the future, but if the manticore set from 3 is too much of hassle, the set from the original is still doable and recognizable at the same time.

  • Nice tip! I'm torn between the Manticore or the Ursine sets but I'm leaning towards the former as it seems a tiny bit easier. Just going to take a crack at it and see how it progresses. I'm sure you know by now, but you should definitely play 3 when you get a chance. It's a masterpiece as far as I'm concerned.

  • I agree with the 3rd being called a masterpiece, I have heard so many good things about it and its developers. I'm just waiting for it to hopefully go on a Steam sale soon before I buy it.
Good luck with whichever armor you choose! I also wish to make a cosplay from the Witcher series, but I'm waiting until I play through the 3rd before I finalize any plans.

  • I'm excited for you! I wish I could go back and experience it for the first time again haha. My only advice is to get the complete edition because I can almost guarantee you'll want more. Plenty of cool characters and outfits to choose from for cosplaying too.

  • Always fun to see other witcher fans/cosplayers :'D

I'd say either manticore or ursine. I've seen multiple ursine armor cosplayers on the internet, so maybe there might be someone who has a handy tutorial or WIP pictures.

Will do! I want to experience the complete edition of the game because I know a lot of characters return. Just waiting for that summer Steam sale...

You can never have enough! Thank goodness for the internet or I'd have no idea where to start. Great work by the way.

Oh yeah, lots of old friends. I have a love-hate relationship with Steam sales though. Just have to have a modicum of self control or I'll end up with more than I can ever play haha
