Looked at and distinctivefabrics which are my usual go-to but no luck. I'm looking for maybe a 1/2" pile in orange (preferably a rusty orange) but no luck!

Has anyone seen anything like this?

University of Texas colors are burnt orange and white with a longhorn mascot in the same colors. Thus, costume shops & mascot makers around Texas probably have what you need stashed somewhere. This would be personal phone call kind of looking, not buying on-line. I know the shop I worked at kept huge amounts of stock, and would occasionally sell a yard or two.

I've never bought from them but I know kind of specializes in faux fur, they might be worth looking through. They also do custom orders but I think you have to go in with a group due to the cost. I'm not sure if pile length is the basis for the animal names I've seen, I think short pile may be called beaver or seal, but that may also be based on texture instead.

Depending on how much you need, you could always dye some white fur! (It's a bit of a challenging process, but definitely doable.)
