There. That should prevent a flood of "Whats MTAC" treads and posts, ne? =3

So, three months can fly by pretty quick, so behold, an Mtac thread.
Everyone looking forward to it?

I am thinking of being Kiba on saturday and Tristan Taylor the sunday, but it all depends

#4 Angathol on 10 years ago

I'll be rewearing Fai (although I'm sure everyone's sick of it by now, rofl... but I'll have a Kurogane this time!) and perhaps another costume if I can start and finish a new one by then. :3

Yay MTAC!!!

I'm going to be Honey-senpai from Ouran (volume 2's family omake costume) one day... probably Sunday. Dunno about the other day yet.

Also, if anyone's looking for stuff to do at night (either Saturday or Friday before the con's even begun...) UTSC will be putting on "The Laramie Project" all week, with our last show on that Saturday. (Meaning yours truly will probably have to flee from MTAC a little early that day in order to to get backstage and in costume and all that ontime. ^^; )
Tickets go on sale at the beginning of February, I think. I think.

In other words, between an anime con and a show... and almost inevitable after party, I'm SO gonna be dead on St. Patrick's Day. XD

I'm working on a Syaoran costume for my next con (Ohayocon) that I'll possibly rewear at MTAC. We'll see if I make anything else between now and MTAC. I might rewear my DJ Shem IIDX costume if I don't come up with anything new. I tend to get lazy at TACs and not wear costumes so we'll see if I hold true to my word or not.

Looking WAY in advance, MTAC appears to be in the SOUTH BUILDING: http://www.mtccc.com/calendar1.cfm?searchDay=15&searchMonth=3&searchYear=2008

Thank you for making this post Brita, as I know you'll keep it updated with the appropriate information!

Ooh, which version of Syaoran are you doing?

Oh god, there are FOUR other conventions at the same time? Brace for impact! I hope we run into people from the holistics show again - we met this hilarious hippie guy this year. But at least it doesn't conflict with BikerCon like DTAC did, lulz. This time we'll be running into hippies, gardeners, artsies and... bead lovers?

It could be worse. ^^;

Anime Expo down in the states once was sharing space with a gay square dancing convention, if I remember correctly.
To quote Dom on megatokyo.com...
"That first night, I also heard what I think is the quote of the convention: 'It's not often that a gay square dancer gets to look at someone odder than he is.' "

Ah...I am only going Saturday right now... It could change. But I am cosplaying Deidara, with a small Naruto Shippuden group consisting of Gaara, Temari, Sakura, Sasuke, and Naruto.

Seeing as we're in the South Building (likely banished to the poor lighting of the basement), I think we'll only see the "Canada Blooms 2008" unless people venture out for the fry truck on Front St.

I'm making default Syaoran with all the piping details, pockets, etc. (I think it's the first hardcover manga volume issue). It's probably about 30%~40% complete right now and I have a little over two weeks to finish it. And I still have to make gloves. AGH. I think I mentioned it briefly at DTAC, about the prop commission.

Damn. I liked running into hippies. They had a good sense of humour.

Oh right! I didn't hear you talk about the staff commission at DTAC but I heard about it from Sion (Holland at DTAC) before. His brother is making it, right? Good luck getting the costume done - I'm excited to see what it'll look like when you're finished.

Right now my plan for cosplays for M-tac is Shirley from Tales of Legendia as a maybe and Sakura uin her prologue/dream world dress as a definetly.
