Very strange question involving paint and an umbrella

I'm curious as to why you'd need to paint an umbrella black. Why not just buy a black umbrella? Are you then going to paint filigree/lace patterns on top of it?

Well because the umbrella was originally white and pink and I needed it black. And no, I could not find this umbrella in black in any of the stores nearby, or online for that matter. :/

Only recently did I finally come across one site that carries black ones for the twice the amount I paid, but I am thinking I am going to bite the bullet and ask my parents get it for me with their PayPal.
