Hi!
I'm not new to cosplaying, but I'm new to good cosplaying, haha.
For Anime Boston this year, I'm going to attempt to make a Ron Delite cosplay. He's a character from Phoenix Wright.

Now, I know this is a huge jump from buying pieces online and going cheapo. I also know this is going to be very complicated. Believe me, I know, haha.
I'm wondering what kind of fabric to use for his cloak? Or if anyone knows of a place where I could purchase something similar and modify it? The cuffs are going to have to be separate pieces. I'm just talking about the body of it, the green part.
I can't really sew either, so this will be quite the adventure. However, I DO work at a fabric store, so I get a 15% discount on all fabrics for this, so please, even if it's a bit expensive, let me know. I can probably figure something out, ahah. Any help at all is appreciated and thank you in advance~! :D
I'd say twill or a suiting fabric. Just a nice, heavy cotton mix fabric should be fine. You could jazz it up by using a bridal satin or something for the lining. That fabric's a bit harder to work with, though.
My friend made a Ron cosplay and she used a basic cotton for both the coat and lining and it looked great. You really don't need a fancy fabric for this and you will be buying quite a bit. Good luck!
Twill if you want to go 100% with the photo, but...
If you want to give it the more "fabulous" look that MaskDeMasque gives off, Try a satin or silky fabric for the sheen.
You are so amazing for going as him. You're my idol now.
