I don't know if I'll do it for anime north, as I might have other cosplay plans (KPOP ones, maybe!), but I really want to do Clawdeen Wolf, particularly this outfit:

It would be incredible with a group! And a photoshoot, even!!! ... but again, I don't know when I'll get around to this costume. ^_^;;;

PS: did you mean to write 2013 in the thread title? or am I just incredibly unobservant and replied to a really old thread?

Such a cool group idea....so many of the girls designs I like.
I can't confirm this early but I'd like to do one of the body colour change girls.

If I'm going to do it I would do Venus McFlytrap. So you could put me down as a maybe.

You know I'm curious when I start looking for base shoes.

I would loooooove to cosplay as a Monster High girl but I don't know how to get away with not painting myself.

My skin is just way too sensetive.

#10 WARPAINTandUnicorns on 6 years ago

My skin is too (sunscreen gives me hives! >_<) but Mehron make a lot of great body paint option that won't cause issue to your skin and they are water base. Queen of Heart Costumes in Waterloo can order them in your us as well.

Also if you pick a girl that just loock pale you could get way with just using a lighter skin tone a well. What characters are you interested in Nightwitch-Kat?

I have an airbrush so I might as well use it. ^___^

Just put me down for Venus McFlytrap. It just to much fun not to do it and i can make her pet as well. (Sorry Riko I'm going to depot you.)

#11 Nagii on 6 years ago

Yeah I'm looking around for options to color myself too. lol. I'm worried about the paint getting on the costume itself.

Temptu makes a liquid AA (alcohol activated)makeup I was considering for this reason but they don't have the shade od radio active green or something to blend close to that colour.

Rochelle Goyle at least is a stone grey so any transfer would not be as noticeable or stain. Water activated paints should work just fine but to save on paint time I'd wear some tights too match to upper body.

This is the brand I'm thinking of get for my pale green skin. Also pick up black and white for blending and shadow tones.

It'd a hybrid AA makeup for it's easier to take off but long wearing.

Awesome group!

Smash in Toronto also has done a number of MH cosplays.

Just dropping in again:

I have REALLY sensitive skin (sensitive enough that the 'sensitive skin' cream gives me hives) that being said, I would recommend Mehron Cream sticks. Myself and GreyMalkin used them when we did Ghoulia and Lagoona last Halloween and they worked out fabulous. It's also what Gravely uses down at Castleblood. The Trick is to set it with powder and then it stays where you put it, and what little might get on a costume (like on the inside of Lagoona's hoodie) it came out in a light wash.

The other thing I would heavily suggest is to buy nylons in colours that match the make-up. We didn't do this the first time we wore the girls and regretted it! American Apparel is good for the coloured stockings or welovecolors.com. I would use these for your legs AND your arms (if you're interested I can post a nylon glove tutorial when I find it again) so you have full mobility without having to worry about spreading your make up on your costume or anyone else's costume for that matter!!

On wigs, if you're going to splice I'd recommend epic cosplay wigs for splicing, they're thick, relatively inexpensive, and they take the abuse! We had Ghoulia and Lagoona inside out upside down ripped apart, clipped up, and they're still fine (also tangle resistant for the long wigs!)

Man I feel like I just wrote a novel....anywho

Cheers!

May break the girls out for AN not sure yet. Am also working on Venus, Cupid, Robecca, Rochelle, and Gil right now o.o will keep updated since it's a long time til AN now XD

That would be awesome! The glove tutorial would be great as Nylon is a trick fabric to sew. Definitely been eying two shades of green from We love Color for the leg though.

Yes Epic Cosplay is the best for long wig because the can take the abuse. Arda I don't trust past the 40" length because the fiber is so natural textured it tangles.

I like the green.
http://www.epiccosplay.com/green-en/ecto-green-en/

But I'm not to sure about the pinks.
http://www.epiccosplay.com/pink-en/hot-pink-en/
http://www.epiccosplay.com/pink-en/raspberry-pink-en/

#15 Chibi Lenne on 6 years ago

I actually own their raspberry in the short shaggy to use eventually for my Venus base the colour is FANTASTIC.

I'm still trying to locate that tutorial but the general gist is you put the pantyhose on your arm and hand sew around your fingers, cut out the 'web' in between (unless you're Lagoona or Gil) and then when they're inside out you won't see the seam.

The other nice thing about the epic wigs is that their long wigs usually come with combs sewn into the front of them. The downside is if someone tugs your wig PAIN.
