I DO NOT DO COMISSIONS

Well I finally got around to this:

For the Kingdom Key:
Materials required:
1 Big peice of poster board
1 Pencil
1 3 1/2' x 3/4" PVC pipe.
1 PVC primer and cement set
1 3/4" PVC cap(optional)
1 3/4" PVC connector
1 1/2" board of wood(your choice)
1 Roll of electrical tape
1 Chain and connector
2 Bottles of Acrylic paint. (yellow/blue or white/red depending on blade)
1 Bottle of spray paint (Silver or Gold, depending on blade)
------------------------------------------------
Equipment required:
1 Jig saw
1 Epoxy glue tube
1 Drill
1 Rod(small)
1 Sand paper
------------------------------------------------
Instrctions:
1. On the poster board draw out the shape of the "crown" shape of the end of the key like so:
http://img134.exs.cx/img134/8383/keybladekingdomkey13ua.jpg

2. Also, draw out a template for the edges of the blade and the Mickey mouse head.
http://img134.exs.cx/img134/5580/keybladekingdomkey22lf.jpg
http://img66.exs.cx/img66/8926/keybladekingdomkey30pm.jpg

3. Now transfer those drawings to the wood. (ink it if you wanna see it better!)

4. Cut the PVC with about 1 foot of pipe for the handle and the rest for the blade. Then cement the two peices together.

5. While the cement settles, take the saw and cut out the peices.

6. With the rod and sandpaper, sand out grooves in the inside of the handle.

7. Now epoxy the sde handle to the PVC
By now this is what is done:
http://img66.exs.cx/img66/8824/picture9sn.jpg

8. Repeat step 6 with the "crown" and attach with epoxy at the other end.

http://img65.exs.cx/img65/2163/dsc003910ws.jpg
Note: during the epoxy process you may want to use rubber bands to secure the epoxy.

9. Paint! Spray the "shaft" haha... and mikey head to the color required. Then using the acrylic paint, paint the handle and add the colored strip to the shaft. Spray some of the silver/gold paint into some newspaper. Apply that at the circular part of the handle cover(if doing Mikeys key spray the chain gold)
http://img141.exs.cx/img141/3366/keybladekingdomkey42em.jpg

10. using the drill attach the chain with mikey head to the bottom of the key.

11. Last step: Using the electrical tape cover the handle.
HORRAY!

------------------------------------------------

http://img80.exs.cx/img80/4006/oath0019qf.jpg

3. Using the band saw, cut out the basic shape and the paupufruit keychain(be careful at the corners and minute details!)
http://img80.exs.cx/img80/7438/ok0023ho.jpg

http://img80.exs.cx/img80/5289/okp14hv.jpg

4. SAND LIKE THERE IS NO TOMORROW!

5. Apply 2-3 coats of wood primer over the whole peice. DO NOT LET DROPS SETLE!!!! if they do it will cause bumps on the blade.
http://img137.exs.cx/img137/9439/dsc0036316mo.jpg

6. Begin the slow but steady process of painting the whole thing. Also paint the cut out of the paupu fruit. Start with white-yellow-light blue-purple-darker blue-black
This saves your brush and won't darken the paint on the blade.
(add coats as needed)

7. Braid the threads together to form the chain.Leave the ends open for thing to be attached to them. Then attach th Paupu to one end of the braid.

8. Drill a small hole in the bottom of the blade and tie the other end of the braid to the small hole.
DONE!

Update:
I've uploaded all the images into my gallery, maybe even some not mentioned. Check it out!

#9 Makko on 13 years ago

How much would this all cost if i were to buy it from an art supply store? and do i need to use the cement, couldn't i use some sort of adhesive?

#10 Blight on 13 years ago

The Kingdom key materials costs about $30 and the oath is about $40 because it's a large hunk of wood. Epoxy works best to adhere the PVC to wood.

#11 caineyamiyasha on 13 years ago

That's really good! Thanks allot for all the info I helps me allot~

#12 Makko on 13 years ago

would it be possible for me to use hard wood with the same diamaters as the PVC tubing? Couse i dont know where i could get some tubing.:geek:

#13 Blight on 13 years ago

Home Depot or Lowes both carry tubing, just ask for it. ^_-
