I just wanted to know if there are any south San Diego cosplayers in like Chula Vista, National City, San Diego, and all that jazz. When I look at the forums I see that almost all the Californian cosplayers live in North Cal and (what I think is-->) Mid Cal. I only see cosplayers during comic-con and then when it's over I feel like they all disappear like *poof!* o.O So I was just wondering...

I welcome you here to chit-chat about things like: what you're working on/ what con you are attending/ Finding cosplaying buddies and con buddies! :D And other stuff! :3

Hello, I'm Dobi. :)
I live in El Cajon, San Diego.
What are you looking for?
To make or join a group?

My little sister and I haven't been to any con's yet but we would love to, we have a small two person (was three person) group and looking for members if interested and if thats what you looking for message me.

*waves hand* I actually live pretty close to the border. I mostly cosplay as superheroes and american cartoon characters, although I do branch out occasionally if I like the character enough :)

I hope to go to either AM2 or A/X for a day this year, and then I definitely plan on Conjecture and Long Beach Comic Con. I'm kind of burnt out on Comic Con here, since I've been attending for over ten years and I hate what the media's created >.<
I REALLY want to go to Dragon Con, but if I can't make it, I'll be attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween party as Merida from Brave :D

Yay southern san diegans! I just wanted to see if they were any out there! I'm also just starting to cosplay myself! I have only been to Comic-Con (5 times or so) and I can understand why you'd fell burnt out! And well when Twilight decided to come to Comic-Con....well lets just say I wanted to strangle almost all of the fan girls there. xD I had liked the books but when the movies came out...eh.

I was actually thinking about those other conventions too! I was also thinking about Anime Vegas ONLY because I have a brother who lives there.
So far I'm only making anime cosplay, but I'll will be making others as well. By the way Ayaasan you have a wonderful cosplay list! :D

D'awww. Thank-you!~ I've been cosplaying for quite some time and have a BA in Art, and I love helping out with what I've learned. If you ever want to collab for a convention, just let me know :) I also occasionally take pictures in Balboa Park.

I'm actually going nuts right now, making a new Wonder Woman costume with some new armor techniques, updating Merida to wear with a group to the movie premiere, and then onto my first masquerade entry--Earth 616 Female Loki from Thor...the beading and leather-work along with super thick faux fur? *drools* :P If I have time I reaaaallly want to get started on a Golden Age Black Canary, and Dr. Mrs. the Monarch.

Wow no wonder all of your outfits are amazing! x3 I love how your Merida is turning out! Wow, Female Loki! The outfit looks amazing! The whole thing would kill me if I ever tried making it haha! But I wish you luck on it!!! I actually wanted to make Enchantress once. :)

I know comic con is getting hard and harder to get into each year :P and it's also getting bery expensive. 175 (i think) for the four days + preview night!

Same as noctiluca but mostly the price. I try but when we find tickets they sell out in two minutes. -_- So no con's yet.

Just a quick note, here's a list of conventions in Southern California for the rest of the year :)

~~Although it's over now, the first May of every year is free comic book day! Most comic book stores participate.

AM-Squared: June 15th-17th at the Anaheim Convention Center. Haven't been personally, but I've heard great things about it. It's the same founders as Anime Expo.

Anime Expo: June 29th-July 2nd at the LA Convention Center. The convention to go to for anime fans apparently. I haven't been since they moved from Anaheim due to a waning interest in Anime/Manga, but it's THE convention to go to for Anime fans ;)

Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo: September 15-16 at the LA Convention Center. It's the second year, and Stan himself is now the official sponsor! Much smaller scale, but a super friendly atmosphere.

Conjecture: October 5-7 at the Town and Country in Mission Vallery: I think it's run by the same people as Anime Conji, although it's theme leans more toward scifi/fantasy.

November 3rd-4th: Long Beach Comic Con at the Long Beach Convention Center. I LOVE this small convention! Already have my hotel booked.

There's also Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party at Disneyland, a ticketed which allows anyone regardless of age to dress up at the park and includes special events, rare character meet and greets, a Halloween parade, and trick-or-treat stations.

Hope this helps!
