Japanese Gym Uniform help?

  • Hello! I'm a big fan of K-ON! and noticed that the gym uniforms they wear aren't what I usually see in anime/manga.
    I took a couple screenies here:

    They seem to be wearing track pants with a tapered leg, and then the usual ringer tees that come with the 'traditional' uniform.
    I like this uniform better than the more revealing kind, so finally here's the point: I was wondering is there any place that sells similar pants? Keep in mind there is a tapered leg. I'd really like a pair for my ringer tee, so I can have a gym outfit that looks exactly like the K-ON! one!
    Thank you!

  • I would definitely look into sporting goods, since some sports brands with Asian branches (Adidas, Nike, Puma) have those similar track pants with the stripes and tapered legs. You could even visit their website to see if they have similar designs that can be tailored to have tapered legs or Asian online shopping sites like Gmarket or Aboki that promote international shipping. Of course, it might cost more since it's from abroad, but hey, you gotta weigh that with how much you want this.

    Happy searching!

  • For the shirts: White shirts, maybe one size bigger than your usual one (they seem to be pretty beggy), for the blue parts, there's shirt textiles that come in already cut-out parts of ~10 to 15cm which can be easily hand-sewn onto the shirt (make sure to stretch them a little while pinning them to it before sewing them to the shirts sleeves, that will make the puffy sleeves). - aaah I run out of words here, but there's a really easy thing to make them look like they don't have any seaming on the outside, for that you have to look up on a tutorial, I don't know how it is called in English ;w;
    for the pants, same thing, but with un-stretchy ribbons that come on rolls (bias binding) on a pair of un-stretchy blue throusers in the same color of the sleeve-add-ons. simly sew them on there by hand, since machines can be horrible when sewing something down a leg.

    That's it! For the shoes, I am sure you can find them on ebay!
