I'm not cosplaying as a Dynasty Warriors character, but I've drawn one of my best friends (who isn't on Cosplay.com) into the cosplaying fold and she'll be going as Da Qiao to Otakon. So if you see a Da Qiao wandering around with a girl in either a Robin from witch hunter robin or a chii , you've found us.

I dunno out of all DW characters I think Lady Sun (3rd or 4th costumes in DW4), Nu Wa, or the CAW females seem like an easy job...And Zhen Ji's dress for DW4 doesn't seem too bad.

Oooo, Dynasty Warriors cosplay. One of these days, I must cosplay as on of the girls from Dynasty Warriors 4. (I'm thinking Diao Chan). But her weapons...how the heck would I come up/make something like that?
ZiggyB, you said you are going to be Zhao Yun for AX this year!? What day are you going as him? I must get a picture! ^__^

I dunno which day yet... I'm guessing sometime Saturday, but it's still a month away. :)

I'll be around. :>

I've never seen any DW cosplay in the states, I can't wait to get a Diao Chan cos started! ^^

#21 ZiggyB on 15 years ago

Oh hey, I saw you at ACen right? :)

We should get together for photos when we have our costumes done. :)

I'm actually gonna try and learn some moves with the staff that Zhao Yun has. I have a friend who does Chinese opera and can teach me theatrical moves with a staff.

Styrofoam, pipe cleaners, paint, wood, beads, glue......believe it or not it's coming off to a start for a friend of mine who wants to go as Diao Chan. Flowers are the only annoying thing about the weapon. Have no clue how the hell to make a flute though O_O;;

#24 Kirschwasser on 15 years ago

Thanks for the info, Kula Diamond. ^__^ I'm just clueless when it comes to making weapons. Well, then again, I've never even tried to make a weapon before! -_-* I believe the hardest part will be finding the right fabric. I can look in Chinatown (when I'm in Los Angeles this month) and see if they have similar fabric.
I could always stick to my original plan and cosplay as Xiao Qiao from DW3. The fans would be so much easier to find or make (I'm hoping).
ZiggyB - Cool. Saturday I'm going to be Kirschwasser from Xenosaga!

#25 KulaDiamond on 15 years ago

No problem ^_^. Least you dun hafta worry about a flute. I know I need the wood and the paint. I'm thinking paper mache all the way for that one or something...mebbe tone it down to lvl 1-3 weapon haha.

I'm considering Huang Yue Ying for Katsu because I like the weapon...looks not too hard to make either too ^_^. I think her weapon would be the easiest to make out of them all. If not there's always Nu Wa ^_^.

#26 Kirschwasser on 15 years ago

Oh yes, the flute...that's a cool looking weapon, but you're right...the flute seems like it would be a bit more complicated to make than the fans or those mace-like weapons. ^_^* Lol at lvl 1-3 weapon...perhaps. Hmmm, it does get fancier as it levels up, doesn't it? Yeah, I guess paper mache would do it.
I can't wait to cosplay DW, because I do believe it's never been cosplayed here in the U.S. It's probably because the costumes seem so complicated, and finding the right fabric is a bit hard (at least for me, it is.)

#27 KulaDiamond on 15 years ago

Right fabric is gonna be difficult to find. I'm thinking though that Zhen Ji's dress will be hard but not like SUPER difficult in comparison to her DW3 dress ^^;.

#28 Nerve-chan on 15 years ago

the basic design of Zhen Ji's (DW3) dress is like a normal chinese dress with LOTS of acessories.

I wanna see a Huang Yue Ying!!! That would be so cool.
I don't Japanese cosplayers have ever done that before!

Sure, sounds like alot of fun! ^^

Oh thanks for the links! They did some very nicely done costumes.

As for mine, I don't think I'm gonna be totally accurate since that color fabric is hard to come by, but I think it'll still look decent... I hope. :)
