Hi all,
Another year is coming to a close, much is ahead. I talked to the guys at Boston Bowl here again and will be setting up a group rate for us...again...they like us there XD

ok, one thing:choosing a month was somewhat difficult.
er, choosing the group plan could be difficult.
We'll manage ^^
So instead of voting, took for suggestions to try and please everyone(goal). I threw some plans and dates at yall and we sorted it out. Pm's always welcomed/MADE for this kinda thing.
May 3rd
1pm

used to be a donation thing (katrina hurrcane)along with the fun, totalling $20.

actual case this yr and REAL example: 1hr bowl, bowling shoes, 10 tokens, slice pizza+soda
$12.50 (not $20 like past yrs)
Oddly fitting in where everyone else in the world stares at your group?
Priceless
for everything else, there's the real world

Info on the bowling center:
820 William T Morrissey Blvd
Dorchester, MA 02122

extras: a N.E.K.O. event (for us new englanders)

I think end of January isn't too soon. Maybe early February, since Katsucon is the third weekend of February. I think a good date would be February 2 (Saturday). That's two months from now, which I think is plenty of time in advance.

I think winter vacation for most schools is the week after Katsucon. Most March breaks (more college than high school) will be the week before or after AB. Not sure when April might be.

I missed this last year becasue of that stupid Car accident ^^;
I would love to go, April is always good (vacation) but as long as the weather is good and I don't have mungo school I'm all game!
Another reason to work or cosplay HURRAH!

#4 Mesoian on 11 years ago

I'm down for whatever. April is probably best, gives everyone a lot of time, not so cold, vacations.

So, that's my vote.

#5 Crazy Flower on 11 years ago

I can do generally most times, although I have to see my work schedule.

where was that? in Lynn?
Stardust, your right, feb 2nd might serve as a good warm up for those hitting DC, and for those now its SOMEthing to tide them over until AB ^^

Yeah, that's why I was thinking February because it is something before AB. I think it would be a good way for people to see each other again and meet new people before the con. Plus it's an inside event which is good for the Winter, because in April and May the weather is nicer so that means we can do outside stuff again. Anyways, that's my argument for having it in February.

I'd like to get down to Katsucon, but I don't think it'll work out. Depends what my year-end bonus is like.

The first time a bowling event was scheduled was the weekend after Katsucon, which worked out to be a good follow up after a con. Since this event is local, I would vote either the weekend before or after AB. That way, cosplayers have some time to make new friends before the con, or meet up with friends they've met at the con.

ok, some pm choices have been mentioned here.
Feb 2/3 weekend (note:2 weeks before katsu)
March 1/2 weekend(note 3 weeks before AB)
March 8/9 weekend (got a couple of these)
April 5/6("after things have settled" XD)
I'm gona throw this out there, I'm not sure who will not be busy the week immediatly before AB, and on top of that willing to travel into town 2 weeks in a row. Us local-locals yeah, but Astro's is the first I've heard of this choice, but it counts as a choice since someone did suggest it.

I've kept in contact with Boston Bowl, and am deciding to just keep the 12.50 package deal unless otherwise said or beaten with a tasssle at the end of a dullsword...or a wig head on a stick

#10 Mesoian on 10 years ago

Well, I'm good for anything. I can't say what my school schedule is yet, but it sounds like this is gonna be a weekend thing, and baring catastrophic homework load, I'm pretty sure I could attend any of the dates in question.

Also bump.

So...Has anyone thought of what their gonna' wear?

#12 stardust462 on 10 years ago

It's almost February now, so maybe we should start looking at days in early March or after AB? I can do pretty much whenever. Saturdays are better though.

Does this place have any arcade games? Or is it just bowling?

I'm rooting for after AB, got too much to do before ^^;; and I prefer Saturdays as well, that way we can actually hit up places like Porter Square or Tokyo Kid \^.^/

Yes, it dose have an arcade there, complete DDR and everything :jjacks:

#14 Crazy Flower on 10 years ago

I believe it has SC2 as well, at least it did when I was there last year. I'm leaning toward April as well.

Also, for people who aren't sure, there is a shuttle to the bowling place from JFK/UMASS station on the Red Line. That's the stop before the split, so either train will work.

I think I've actually been to this place before - chaperoning a school field trip *shudder*. I completely suck at bowling but I'd come for the DDR (at which I also suck, but enjoy nevertheless). I could only come after AB as I am spending every weekend between now and then helping a gaggle of girls make 7, count 'em, 7 Ouran Host jackets. Someone kill me now.
