What argument, "It's Capcom, so we know they'll fuck it up, given their track record these past couple of years"? Dude, everyone is beginning to realize that.

Oh, and I forgot to mention this before, but what Capcom is doing is nothing like MK9's DLC. MK9 didn't have characters already on the disc that we were then expected to pay extra money for if we wanted to play as them.

And then the joke goes so far over his head you get to have another laugh.

Okay, I just looked up who you referenced, so now I can actually respond to your attempt at a joke at my expense: What argument? I stated what the direct word-of-god inspiration for Pyron was and you take issue with that?

ITT: A.J. Crescent takes himself, and Darkstalkers way too seriously.

And now. I'll leave well enough alone until such time (if any) we get new news.

ITT: "Taking oneself too seriously" is apparently synonymous with "Defending oneself when someone begins picking on them for literally no good reason". And apparently taking issue with Capcom's disturbing practices = taking Darkstalkers too seriously.
What argument, "It's Capcom, so we know they'll fuck it up, given their track record these past couple of years"? Dude, everyone is beginning to realize that.

No, that was the problem with MK9's DLC. The reason why it's online was so fucked was because they didn't force people to download the DLC files and charge to unlock them. Some people having some files while other people had others caused the desync issues which pretty much killed the online community and most of the longevity for the game.

There is an argument for having DLC files on the disc. Having incomplete models or not-yet-balanced systems on the disc is okay. What capcom is doing with SFxT isn't okay. Those 12 DLC characters are FINISHED 100%, they're just charging for them, which is pretty heinous.

You want my advice, if you're interested in SFxT, wait 6 months for the Vita version to come out, because then those 12 characters will be unlocked for free on both consoles and we'll have our first big balance patch to fix shit like Borked Julia and the Jin glitch and the Kazuma Infinite.

And personally, I don't think Darkstalkers 4 is even on the docket for Capcom right now. SFxT and TxSF are taking priority for the next 2 years.

Yeah, pretty much. Hell, in 2010, Christian Svenson actually admitted that Capcom has no room for even considering possible plans for so much as a Darkstalkers HD remix until at least 2015.

And yes, what Capcom is doing with their so-called "DLC" {and I say so-called because DLC is supposed to be CONTENT that you DOWNLOAD, not shit that's already on the disc that you end up paying for TWICE} is heinous. This is why publishers want to go digital, people, so they don't have to contribute to this sneaky bullshit. This is like a DVD having extra features that you have to pay for a second time in order to view them.
You ask me, Darkstalkers doesn't have a big enough cast to get away with DLC for characters unless we get new ones. Though what stereotypical monsters are left?
I always thought Tessa would be a good character to add to the Darkstalkers roster.

#24 AJ the Collector on 7 years ago

I'd actually love to see Tessa, Leo, Hydron and Hauzer adapted into Darkstalkers characters, along with Sonson and Ruby Heart, since clearly nothing else will ever be done with them. Sadly, we know that'll never happen either.

#25 Mesoian on 7 years ago

Actually, I'd suspect that Ruby Heart, Son Son and Amigo could be there, since they were made for Darkstalkers 4 when that was being made...what, 15 years ago? Got cancelled so they just stuck'em in MvsC2.

#26 AJ the Collector on 7 years ago

Actually, Ruby was the only one intended to be a Darkstalkers character, and she was a rejected design for Darkstalkers 3. Sonson was just a female version of the classic character of the same name, and Amingo... Yeah, I don't know what the deal was with Amingo. They never had a Darkstalkers 4 planned.

Given how resistant they are to ever using them again, I find it unlikely they'd ever be brought back for anything, let alone a franchise they constantly ignore and actively threaten with obscurity.
