Euphemia's white gown?! -.-

This thread is archived.

  • I really want to make her white gown :

But I can't find any good refference pictures of it anywhere :(

I did notice that the bottom of it is huge. So I was thinking maybe a hoopskirt? Or can anyone think of a better option?

  • This is the only picture. It is from the DVD BOX set of the first season. Here is a bigger image of it~ http://polence.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/11/code-geass-ball.jpg

Hoopskirt will work. The other option that you can consider too is petticoat.

  • Thank you :) Which one do you think would work better for this design?

  • Hoopskirt will give you a nicer poof. If the fabric you use are too thin, the steel boning will show through the fabric. Personally I use petticoat for mine, it gives a softer feeling. You can also choose to use both

  • I'll probably use both... What fabric did you use for yours? Because it's gorgeous *_*

  • Also would you recomend the top and bottom seperatly? Because I really didnt want like a seam across my waistline.

  • I use satin and those sheer fabric (^^;; sorry I dont know the name, I think its Voile).

^^;;; no matter what you are going to have a seam across the waistline. cause that is how yo cut the fabric for a gown normally. Though, I suggest that you attach the outer layer of the gown with the top and separate the bottom layers... cause you dont want the weight/ amount of the fabric at the bottom to pull the dress down. After all, the dress is shoulderless.

  • Let me make sure I understand this. Make the petticoat/hoopskirt not attatched to the actual dress so that the dress doesn't fall down? ^^;;

  • ^^;;; sorry that I was so unclear...

so... red part one piece, blue part one piece, and petticoat/hoopskirt need to be separate as separate pieces too.

  • No its fine! :) Thank you for clarifying~

  • I also used a three tier hoop skirt under my dress. It was only about 10 bucks on ebay and has held up really well.

Also, here's a HUGE version of the scan (the one I used as a ref). http://gallery.minitokyo.net/download/312944

If you have any construction questions let me know, I have a very detailed write up I did for someone a little ways back. ^_^

I also managed to make this entire dress without having any seams visible other than what are in the the reference pictures. XD
