So, with 2014 right around the corner, and with some of the awesome releases we've had this year, I thought it would be interesting to hear which games people have enjoyed the most, and the games people are looking forward to in 2014, or even which games they are hoping/wishing for.

Alrighty, I'll start. So even though I only got into the series this year, Starcraft II - Heart of the Swarm. When a friend introduced me to this and I started playing the multiplayer, I fell in love with it immediately. It's everything I want in an online game, something where you need to think quickly, and be able to act fast and precise. I only got this about two months ago, and it's been a steep learning curve that I've thouroughly enjoyed.

No hate please, but DmC: Devil May Cry. I've played every single DMC game, and the reboot, by far is my favourite, oddly enough. Good plot, good character development (The new Dante isn't that bad), and probably the most fluent combat system I've seen to date.

So, here's my list for next year:
Kingdom Under Fire II - KuF: Heroes was my favourite xbox game, a blend of the Total War series and Dynasty Warriors. With a new single player plus an online multiplayer mode, let's just say my housemates have been warned, when this drops, it'll be a while before they see me :walkoff: Supposedly it's finally going to be released next year (It was in development hell when I was in high school, I've waited a long time for this)

Smash Bros 3DS - I said Nintendo need to make a handheld smash bros game since the original 3DS launched. Its something you'll definitely want to play with friends.

Tekken X Street Fighter - This got announced like 3 years ago. Come on guys, I wanna see the Street Fighter guys on the Tekken engine.

So I've pretty much lost all faith in FPS games. Last one I bought was Battlefield 4, which I pre-ordered hoping I was going to get some sort of enjoyment out of it. Truth be told I went back to UT2004. Here's hoping 2014 brings me something in that genre I can enjoy.

So there's my essay on my end-of-year thoughts regarding releases, what do you guys think?

I honestly do not have game of the year for 2013. Some of the games I am looking forward to playing next year are The Walking Dead Season Two, Bayonetta 2, and Mario Kart 8.

The only two games I bought in 2013 were Tales of Graces f and Tales of Xillia. I've enjoyed Graces and am at the part before the last dungeon in the main story (trying to finish up a couple side quests first). I haven't really started on Xillia yet as I want to beat Graces first, but when I did test Xillia out it seemed fun.

In 2014 I'm looking forward to Tales of Xillia 2 (need to beat the original first though) and Tales of Symphonia Chronicles (mostly for Dawn of the New World as I played the original on GameCube).

I think this year was very interesting, mostly because of releasing next-gen consoles. I'm considering buying PS4, but maybe next year, cause there aren't many interesting exclusives for now.
As for DmC - it's not my "game of the year", but I think it's quite good and I don't understand all the hate around it. I enjoyed playing it :)
I won't be original if I say that my favourite 2014's game is Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag. I was afraid that the combination of assassins + pirates won't work, but fortunately I was wrong :) The story is coherent and meaningful, characters are well designed. Also, this game brings something fresh into the AC series. In the other hand, my biggest disappointment was the game, after which I expected the most. I'm talking about Tomb Raider. It wasn't bad at all, the gameplay was reeeaaaally good! But the story was very predictable.
This year I'm looking forward to Thief, The Division and Dragon Age: Inquisition :D

I loved Zero Punctuations comments on that. Essentially its along the lines of - Ubisoft stop milking Assasins Creed and wrap it up already
"would you be happy if we gave you pirates?"
Yes... You pricks
