So I bought a Venus wig from Arda, recently as of last week. I checked it out, broke it in for my Sailor Venus costume and all was well so I packed everything back in.
I noticed it got tangled; however I did realize a wig this length would be susceptible to tangling so I went ahead to brush it.
And a part of it ended up like this:

I own three Arda wigs, so brushing them before was never a problem despite them being short length, in addition to brushing another wigs other than from Arda. I have two brushes, and both are specifically for wigs so I am not brushing them with a brush for human hair.
I am also brushing my wig bottom to top, in small sections, like you're supposed to. I even gently split the tangles before touching my wig with the brush to lessen the mess and to make brushing easier, but every time I do that, it somehow keeps getting even more tangled.
I'm pretty sure I'm doing something wrong, and sure that Arda has sent me a fully-functional wig so it's probably me.
It's only tangled in the section as shown in the image, and I have not touched any other long sections. I have combed the bangs and those fibres are just fine.
I came on here to ask just as a precaution what it is I'm doing wrong, so that I don't ruin my really expensive wig ;_;

The brushes are probably causing static and making the fibers cling together more. Long wigs are more susceptible to stretching as fibers get pulled. DEFINITELY get a wide toothed comb and give it a shot, going at a few inches at a time.

What do you think I can do in the mean time? I'm wearing this wig for Fan Expo this coming Thursday, and I'll see if I can pick up that particular comb at the con, but it'd be best not to leave my wig the way it is. I know Arda sells them online but they're sold out and I believe their next restock is in September, but with them being at Fan Expo and me going anyways I'd pick up a brush straight from the booth.
If I keep brushing I'll keep making the tangles worse.

ANY wide toothed comb will work. If you really want one for wigs try Sallys Beauty supply or an asian beauty store near you, but as long as the teeth are wide set it should work no problem.
