FanExpo'14 Cosplay Countdown

This thread is archived.

  • Since this forum doesn't get enough love I though of starting a general one for this year. I think about 70% of cosplayers at Fanexpo only cosplay at FanExpo as costumers. lol

Share how far along your are!

  • My family final giving me a day off next weekend to work on my costume... I
'm a burt critter from the 4 days of digging this weekend but we only got in 3 post holes. T-T I'll feel so much better once I finish her jacket.

  • I'm getting closer! For one costume I need to draft and make a belt as well as assist with finishing boot covers and props. Then I have to finishing tackling the wig (which will just take a day, I just need to be ready to tackle gravity defying braids).

My other costume I need to get some fabric for but it it is more simple to construct.

After that I just need to freshen up anything else I am wearing.

  • I will be attending as Gamora from Guardians of the Galaxy (the current MARVEL NOW! comics version.) I still am constructing her armour parts, and it is taking so long! I have already spent 3 months planning/buying all my materials, and I hope I can come with a finished weapon at this point- considering how long just the armour is taking.

Will anyone be upset if an assassin comes with no gun? *_* I hope not!

  • I have no idea anymore what I'm doing this year. XD I was supposed to have Mako Mori and Raleigh Becket finished to cosplay with my bf, but that's definitely not happening. It's taking a lot longer than expected to scratch build 2 full suits of armor.

I'm borrowing a yellow jacket from my friend, and need to find a pink tank top so I can do a lazy Jubilee. I am not going to look very impressive this year haha

I have no idea if I should put my nose to the grinder and try to whip up something new in the next few weeks

  • I'm planning to complete two costumes.

SailorMoon (school uniform version) is about 85% done. Sewing-wise only need to make a red bow and finish up the top. Then find shoes and possibly a bookbag.

My second cosplay is actually a funny story and a lesson to all to research an image before you cosplay it. lol. I randomly found this cute picture online of a fox girl...turns out she is from a hentai game but since I already invested in fabric, I'm going with it. I'm only 50% done...but I don't see an issue with completing it in time.

  • I have 2 costumes on the go...and I still haven't started any of them owo!!!

  • I'm for sure doing Elsa with my sister as Anna, however she still needs some work over skirt needs to be stitched on and snaps for detachable capes. Need to decorate small cape and make and decorate large cape.
Just need to choose my other Cosplayes I have several just not sure what is gonna be con ready. I potentially have the horned king from black cauldron

  • I'll have four costumes.. Alison Hendrix is totally done, and Clara and Eleven are almost done, I just need to dye my jacket and buy a shirt. My Winter Soldier is coming along but I still need to finish the belt and try to do that back harness.

  • I have a secret cosplay that I will be wearing on Sunday. I'm only going on Sunday. I need to make part of the accessory and I'm done. I got the cosplay online though.

  • I'll be stuck in Artist's Alley for the duration of the con, but my cosplays are Arya Stark (Game of Thrones) and fem!Merlin (BBC's Merlin)! Really looking forward to it! (:

  • I feel like I'm stuck on idle because I had to redo my sleeves. >_< Thankfully I have extra material. But I WANTED to be done this jacket 2 weeks ago....

My families patio is still not done but after 5 weekends we finally have the pole holes in....

  • I'm bringing my kimono I bought on a recent trip.

Still have to buy tickets... I can only go one day... can't believe I am.missing slade....

    Need photo op tickets too

  • Drafted out all the patterns for my next costume yesterday! It is going together faster than I thought it would which is awesome! Today I'll iron all the fabric as I washed it this weekend, sew my mock up of the top and hopefully sew the skirt together.

  • Just a head up you will only see me in Cosplay after 5pm on Saturday for a few hours and the masquerade. Thus Unplugged Expo is getting the Madeline Hatter treatment. ;)

I'm going to be working at the Queen of Hearts Costume booth this year as a wig stylist and makeup assistant.
