American going to Lucca Comic con. Help?

This thread is archived.

  • I am an American and I'll be attending Lucca Comic Con. I do not know if this is the right place but I was hoping for some help from those who have been before. Dose it cost anything to Attend? Is it a hard area to navigate? And how much is parking? I do hope someone can help, I do hate going into these things blind.

  • hi! first..sorry for my bad eng but i try to help you....Lucca comics is the biggest convention in italy and it is all inside the city,in squares and streets and on the wall that surrounding Lucca..you can go around free but if u wanna go inside the stands (that u find around) to buy somethings u need to have a bracelet (it cost about 13euro-18dollar one day or u can buy it for mor day with discount). Is not complicate to navigate and u can have a map of the city to the cash..about parking..u can parking everywhere u find a place or there are a big park that cost maybe 5euro-6dollar (if my memory is good) for all day!
    i hope i helped u..if u need help..i'm here

You have been very helpful, And your English is very good as well. I was wondering if they sell out of bracelets? At some American Comic Cons they well out and will not let you buy them at the door.

  • U can buy it online then print the ticket..show it to the cash and they give u the bracelet...anyway u can buy it there but with a lot of peoples in line^^

I do not mind the Line as long as they have it, Navigating the site is...Problematic given my lack of Italian comprehensions ( I cant read any of it and I speck maybe 4-6 words currently... T_T)

  • I can link u the page if u want..google translate doesn't work on the page?

  • Some pages it dose, some it dose not, It depends if the words its trying to translate are in text or on a Image. When its an image it can't translate. A link would be grateful
    for the link.

  • maybe is too early for the online ticket cause i don't find the page..but i will post it here when is online :)

You are a kind person and I am grateful for your assistance.

  • no problem..the forum is here for this^^

  • I just feel bad...Posting here and yet being able to understand about 4 words of Italian... ^_^;;

  • another detail: you need the ticket only for enter in the stands area (if you want to buy gadget, play games, etc).
If you want to have a walk/photos/partecipate to the cosplay competition in the city, you don't need the ticket :)

for example I'll stay for 4 days there and I'll buy olny one ticket for the first day, an in the other day I only have cosplay :)

ps: sorry for my english :(

I do find it funny they everyone seems to say "Sorry for my English" And yet its better then most Americans(My self sadly included)

Thank Y'all so much for the assistance. Now if only I could get a cosplay together in time>

  • Also I was wondering about there Prop Rules/ Laws for Italy. I have been to some Con's in Washington DC That do not permit anything that looks like a gun. I think I might be able to do a Costume of Ellis from Left for Dead 2 relatively quick but I only have a Little Unukalhai for a melee weapon, Would there be anything wrong with trying to procure a Air soft pistol or something that looks slimier?

  • you should use the red top for be sure that there won't be any problem.
btw i saw a lot of cosplayers with soft air weapons without the red top :)

during the convention there will be police and similar, but it's for general security (there are so many people, the city is totally full of cosplayer and not only them!)..

uhm a solution maybe could be to bring your gun with a removable red top and put it into your weapon if it's necessary for control :P
