New England cosplay picnic? Combo-deal thread

This thread is archived.

  • I might be able to make the 22nd, but I'm going out to that area the weekend before for graduation parties, so I'm not sure if I can make it two weekends in a row.

6/12 would be better for me because I can't do 6/5, but it should be whatever works for more people.

  • End of May is a no-go for me. I might be able to do a quick pop-in for something in June.

so, are these suggestions in date change? We'll see what we can do, but I'm sure we all have personal appointments on every weekend somewhere somehow. Thats why I just went off and picked a date, otherwise, I mean, we're rearranging it for like one person here and there each weekend and hard to keep a reality XD You know what I mean.

To make more appetizing, there are cook-out facilities in Stanley park, like 100 feet from the memorial and garden spot/walkboard pond areas. Might be more on the sports end too(forgot). WE CAN GO BBQ crazy, I know I'm up for that, couple others here I know would be with me....once they read this
I'm not sure why organizers on coscom never suply a map to functions, barely a link, so I'm going to break that, map link is right here:

Also, I'm starting to know cambridge a lot better now, Harvard sq is a good place to return the picnic to, else Hunting Ave has some sweet spots no one has really touched betore(base can be at the christian science center where the (Prudential is).

  • I won't be able to make the one at Stanley (that's our anniversary and husband's birthday weekend). But I saw something mentioning Boston. Any ideas on dates or locations for that one?

no ned for reasons XD I'm updating the first page with specifics, over time and per input. It helps if ppl choose what they can instead of can't do, its easier to filter the good skittles out of the whole rainbow in essence.
Then we can post some pics for the Boston location. I guess theme helps, modern looking vs park vs whatever. What do ppl want pics of if anything? Else a regular social(picnic) works fine, after all, AB needs some encore outside its venue.

  • hey sephygoth i would love to go but i do know what to do do i have to like but a ticket or fill out something? and do i have to bring a cosplay over there because all i have are cute neko ears and a tail. or is this like a party and i am sweating over nothing. can anyone please help me out because i am worried that i might do something wrong and get on someone's bad side. and do i have to bring anything because i will, soda.napkins, cake ect.

  • i just need to post right cause i forgot to subscribe to this dont pay attention this post.

  • depends on what you want to go to ^^ You don't have to bring anything unless you want to. People that do bring stuff are awsome though.
Boston is always a picnic deal, we just wear something we've made and ask others what they're up to, nothing big.
Topics of conversation are usually cons and projects, and no one really starts official conversations, it just happens.
Sometimes we bring a frizbee or a nice beach ball to knock each other out with, but regardless of the pics, I've not been knocked out quite yet:

we still need a good date for boston, its helpful to keep it within the 5th and 12th there.

  • Sounds like everything is everywhere :) MY husband loves to bake, so we can definately bring like a ton of big fresh cookies to keep the sugar flow going ;) hehehe......maybe there should be a tally of people going in the update ? If so my group is 4-5 (give or take 1)

I'm not suggesting a date change for my own sched cause its way too unpredictable right now. I can always try to make it to the one in Boston if its in June.

oh I know the biz, your schedule is your schedule.Completely understand. I know you got a project *.* which lives and breathes. definatly take care of the biz before considering being with us hooligans. Cosplay isn't the most important thing, and being home is ^^

  • I'm in the middle of sorting out all my fabric today, people want to post what they are looking for, or what they want to work on,...so far I have costumes, TONS of bridal satin left over from my wedding...Arcanines head for parts, and maybe some weapons ??? let me know

are we adding a fabric swap? if so I'm gona havta see what you have. I have SOME plans, but being very layed back and working on stuff at hand I havent thought to go shopping recently.
I go have some colors in stretch velvet, and other stretches. I might take some pics and post em on photobucket.
good idea, moving can be such a pain, but its a great excuse to force out the pack-rat in the self.

I would say thats a good side show too, for when ppl are getting pics and all.
Speaking of side shows, shal we bring frizbeeness, beachball, etc (darts?) to pass around, or should we just chuck uncooked steak at each other(marinated of course)

  • mmmmm.....marinade! I personally not into a fabric swap since the last one I went to a few months ago they took an entire bag of satin (worth around 80$) and I got like nothing in return...from my personal experience. I'd prefer to sell than swap for my silks, satins and fur.

I have a frisbee, and a couple things to throw around...someone should bring beach balls to kick around.

P.s.- I know what u mean about being laid back this year, since boston I havent even started to plan for next year just yet, because well life's getting in the way dammnit! :)
