Anime Cosplay at Comic Con

This thread is archived.

  • On Saturday I will be Nagisa from Free!.

  • Yeah. I'm essentially going for 3 days. But Saturday isn't one of them. I got Thursday ( Like to get all the shopping out of the way without fighting to get where I want. Plus I got to meet the voice of one of my childhood cartoon characters Thursday last year so that was pretty cool XD ) Friday ( never a bad day ) and Sunday ( the good bye day )

I was thinking between Summer Tamaki and Summer Hikaru. Hikaru is probably better because he's not a default blonde anime character, and Hikaru has the bright orange pants, so you can just sorta look for that LOL. If you see me, please come say hi ( if I find you first, you'll in character regret it XD ) People are ALWAYS scared to say hi to me for some reason ( apparently I'm intimidating? ) I swear I don't bite! And I'll be looking for all the anime characters I can at comic con, believe me.

I wanted to go Thursday but I have to work so the weekends were the only 2 days I could go.
I herd Thursday is awesome for shopping :)

That's so cool about the voice actor! I've gotten to do that also at past cons ^^

Of course I will say hello too you if I see you!! I will be on the look out for Orange pants Hikaru!

Lol yes if you see me first definitely say hi to me too! Just look for the really short Haruhi who looks 10 years younger then they are :) I will be wearing a crochet blue Ouran pull over cardigan.

    I am getting so excited!

  • In my experience, I have found that comic cons are cool with whatever you cosplay, be it comic, anime, sci-fi, hell even furry cosplays are accepted there. However, the same is not always true of anime cons. Again, this is just my own personal experience, but anime cons tend to not want cosplays that are not anime or video game related. Some anime cons even put stipulations into their costume contest rules that ONLY anime related costumes can be worn.

  • Yeah no. They look at you really funny at NYCC if you step over to the comic side of the show floor with an anime cosplay on lol.

@ Cole & Kaze: Really? I never felt that the comic people look at you funny when you wear an anime costume or the other way around. Then again I don't care what others think. The main thing is that you are happy and having fun.

@ Kaze: Yay!! You decided on Hikaru for Sunday!!! :: noticed your signature:: :)

  • Don't mind anyone who gives you the look it's that Peanut butter in my chocolate mindset some people have despite the act they been in a Reese's cup for a while now and just don't want to admit it. I got the same problem with people about non-anime cosplays at Anime expo and the like. "Oh I don't like there's too many people having fun and dressing as the character they like because it's not X but Y."

So the furries, steampunk, lolitas, and goths are ok but the spandex people got to go? Whatever you say. <_< *puts on a tail and dog mask*. Captain American shepherd away!

Yeah. For the past two years I try and connect with fellow obscure ( yes Ouran is a bit obscure now XD ) cosplayers if it's something I'd be willing to do, because often times I have trouble deciding what to do ( I was gunna be Tuxedo Mask on Sunday if I even remembered lol ) I missed an oppurtunity to meet with someone who was cosplaying from the same series as me last year ( I had my sister cosplaying with me as well ) and I won't make that mistake again!

I feel like this is from an anime/video game where some older guy spits out non sensical riddles. I tried SO hard to follow what you typed here lol

I surprisingly didn't have that experience when I went in 2011 but then there were probably too many people for me to have the presence of mind to pay attention to the funny lookers o-o Doesn't seem like they're including the anime portion this time around for the second time. I'd go, but thats one 'a the major things keeping me from going and it is close after all <,< >,>
